pretty sure some pharma company would kill to buy this company up and profit from it. put your cancer drug competition out of business and you profit from the machines.

The FDA delays implementation by design.

This is my big fear with something like this, people who make tons of money off of treating, not curing cancer, holding this thing up if it truly can be successful.

They could always steal the idea in China, or relocate to Canada or Mexico if the FDA drags it's feet too long.

So far, so good. The FDA doesn't seem to be uncooperative and there's no indication that the pharmaceutical co.'s are trying to shut them down.

Only entity with the power of "holding this thing up" is the FDA and the owners of the technology, not some drug company (you may think the FDA holding it up is a good thing, that doesn't change the fact that it is).

Kanzius himself tried it without FDA approval, but if someone wanted to pay him to have the same treatment, that would be unlawful.

    (1) The FDA has been very clear on what it needs from the scientists in order for them to proceed. The lead scientist, Dr. Curley, has been an adviser for the FDA and is very familiar with how to deal with them and what they want. The research has proceeded on schedule and without any unexpected delays by the FDA. To the best of my knowledge, they are still on track to begin human testing next year.

    (2) Kanzius' attempts to try it on himself were not successful because they had not yet figured out how to attach the metal particles to the cancer cells. They also had not yet figured out what metal particles to use, how much to use, how to keep the effects localized, and many other things. His efforts were the actions of a dying man doing anything he can to try to give himself a chance at more life.

This is facinating stuff. Makes me want to switch careers to something involving medical research.

    Screw 'em, Nuke 'em.

People don't live to keep business systems in place, the model MUST change FOR US when its beneficial to our lives.

Though fun, these are the type of applications I worry about the most. Things going outside its intended use into novel/cosmetic use and factory-assembling people.

Or as "long" as men can get the equal benefits on themselves in another area...
