Those P90X videos really kick my ass. I just started doing them last week and can definitely understand why they are so effective. Just did the yoga video today -- the hardest one in my opinion!

You can do Cardio X instead its a bit more easy and gets the job done, I don't do plyometrics b/c I have knee problems so I do Cardio X instead.

As crazy as P90x is in the beginning, Insanity is on another level. Of course, that could be because I have knee/ankle problems, but damn that was high intensity.

I honestly think insanity is a horrible program, I tried it out for a week and was very disappointed. It is over hyped and a very bad program to follow IMO.

I finished 3 weeks (altho i gave up on yoga). I am a little upset though- doctor told me that I can't exercise for 1-2 weeks (long story). So when I get back, Ill have to start it up again. I'm wondering what you guys would do in this situation- would you start all over from week 1? I was thinking about starting from week 2 (since its the same schedule for the first three weeks) and going all out, including yoga. Thoughts?

That sounds fine. I say start from week 2, and do 2 weeks of the workouts followed by the recovery week, and go from there.

    Are you in Beaumont?

I'll be heading that way in mid-February.

I did the P180X program which is basically P90 x2 -- got zero benefit from it -- I wouldn't waste my money.

I just started p90x Tuesday. The plyometrics yesterday was real fun.

Anyone want to start with me? We could keep use this thread and talk about our progress.

Missed this post. We started the same day. Plyometrics is pretty crazy. I've never sweated that much other than playing basketball.

I have been able to do more reps/ go harder as time has gone by. For example- the first time I did plyo, it KILLED me. It took 2 full days for the soreness to go away. By week 3, I was fine the next day. To be honest, I haven't seen any visible results that I know of (and no one has said anything to me either).

    However, I will say
1- Im not doing the diet guide, Im just eating normally (nothing stupid like taco bell every day)
2- I kinda skipped out on yoga bc it was killing me, but I won't next time around
3- three weeks is a short time to have noticable changes, IMO. I might be wrong and others who have done it might feel that there were, but I don't see any physical changes.

At the end of the day though, its killing me on a daily basis and I'm loving it.

As previously mentioned, Ill start back on week 2 once I fully recover. I'd love to keep up with you (and/or someone else) on here. It will take me around a week, I'm aiming at starting on a Monday (since the program is kind of designed that way)- either Jan 24th or 31st. If you want, I can join up with you then.

I wanted to start an exercise program but I can't decide between P90X and Insanity. The pro I like about Insanity is that I don't have to buy any exercise equipment.

Anyone have any success with Insanity? Should I just stick with P90X?

The success mostly comes from how committed you are to a program and the change you make, not as much the actual program, assuming it's a well-respected one. In this case, from what i understand, Isanity is more cardio based, while P90x won't give you as much cardio, but more resistance training. So do you just want to lose weight or lose weight and gain some muscle mass?
