I still can't find a preseason schedule for NBA League Pass online. However, I finally called my stupid cable company today and got it activiated. Anyways, I looked a couple days of head in the TV menu, and it looks like they're going to start showing games on the 15th. However, they only show about 2 or 3 games per day during the preseason and they will not be showing the Rockets games on the 15th, 17th, or 18th. That's as far into the future as the digital cable allows me to look, so we're screwed for the next 3 preseason games. :(

    DCKid,

Do you have Time Warner Digital Cable?

Mine here in Austin will not show a game until Oct.29th, the first games of the regular season. That means no preseason games for me. How did you pull this off?

On Direct TV, Fox Sports southwest usually televises one or two preseason games prior to the regular season.

I have directv as well. The league pass is 179.00 and all Rockets games are on 51 (ironically the only local channel that isn't on my sattelite).

FYI, I just ordered NBA League Pass with AT&T for $139. They said that the price goes back to $179 on the 16th.

No, I have Cox Communications. If you're paying the same as everyone else, I think it's bullcrap! You should demand a price deduction if nothing else, because the preseason games are supposed to be INCLUDED in League Pass. I mean, games are actually being shown and you're missing them. Hopefully that stupid cable company will get their act together. I don't understand, all they have to is activate the channels for you, just like they would activate HBO, Skinemax, or anything else. Does TWC even know that they actually show Preseason games on League Pass? It sounds to me like they're just clueless.

You're S.O.L. if you live in the Houston area, because League Pass blacks out all the Rockets games on League Pass in the Houston area, as a way to help increase ratings on Ch. 51, and Fox Sports SW.

If you live outside of a 60 or 90 mile radius from Houston, then only can you see the Rockets on League Pass.

how much would it cost to get your local cable company to give you the most basic channels like NBC, ABC, CBS, WB, UPN, Fox, and Channel 51? My cable company says $12.70. You only need it for 7 months. That's not even $90. Even with an installation fee of $30 it's still not as much as League Pass.

Charter Communications in Minnesota is NOT offering NBA League Pass this season. They claim that only 60 people in the entire state ordered it last season (at least those folks with digital cable).

Yeah. I called and they would still not activate them for me, so I asked for a discount, and they are considering that for sure. what a shame. I do not think TWc knows preseason games are being shown. and I have been telling them this over and over and they aren't believing me.

I do not believe this is correct. I have never seen preseason games mentioned on any League Pass advertisement I have seen/read.

This will be my 4th LP season on DirecTV. In all prior seasons, my experience has been that DirecTV shows only a random few preseason games. These games are listed as "Free Previews" (just as they are on the NHL version of this service).

My further experience is that you do not have to be a LP subscriber to view the "Free Preview" games.

This year the "free preview" starts on the 29th.

Then Why would NBA league Pass take the time to show them. Keep in mind i got to see many preseason games just last year. So obviously, these games are part of the package.

If these random few preseason games are free previews, then my digital cable NBA channels should have been activiated long ago so I could start seeing these free games.

and Pimp is right. the free preview starts on the 29th. so preseason games are for the people who order early I guess

That depends. Are you stating that LP is showing some preseason games or that by purchasing LP you will receive (in addition to the regular season) ALL preseason games?

The latter is what is understood DCKid to be expecting and that is NOT true. If you observe their advertising, they clearly state "receive up to 40 regular season games per week".

I may have been wrong in labeling them "Free Previews". What I meant was - on DirecTV, there will be preseason games shown with no advance schedule listed on their site.

Is this some kind of awesome deal?

Time Warner in Austin is charging $159. Price goes up to $179 once the season begins.
