He was on the Vancouver Summer League team IF we wanted him . . .would it be possible I think if Mobley Bolts Gee would be a nice replacement Gee has the confidence Gee could develope the type of Game Rocket River ------------------
Gee is also a 6'2 PG. He may have the desire, and perhaps the type of game, but he can't overcome his physical shortcomings. I couldn't imagine a 6'2 guy, who went undrafted, playing 30+ minutes a night at SG as Cuttino did and succeed as a big time SG. We can talk about Cuttino replacements all the time, but there is only one thing best for our situation. Cuttino himself. STAY!!! ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com [This message has been edited by The Cat (edited July 24, 2000).]
Gee has the athleticism of Matt Maloney, minus the consistent outside shooting. The guy is a shifty penetrator. But he will never be able to do anything at the NBA level. ------------------
I only saw a couple of Gervin's games, but I have to agree with DaMan. He doesn't have the talent to play in the NBA. ------------------ "Don't think twice, its allright"
I have not only seen Gee Gervin play but I've played alot of pickup ball with him and many NBA players over the years. Believe me when I tell you he is far much better athlete than Matt Maloney. He is a pure scorer with an explosive first step in a point guards body. He really needs to change his game and hit the weight room to make it the NBA. ------------------
I watched Gee Gervin play for an entire season when he played on the San Jac Ravens. He is quick, but he is also way too confident in a shot that really is quite inconsistent. I don't think too many teams could use him. ------------------ "Nothing is certain but the unforseen." Some Dude
Who is this guy never heard of him and by the way i think the rockets will be batter off with derck gervin the ice-man brother that played here in israel in my home town team of maccabi kriyat motzkin and had no problem saying he is the best player in the middel-east. ------------------ The holy land #1 rocket fan [This message has been edited by The Israeli Rocket (edited July 25, 2000).]
Wasn't Gee like 1st team Conference USA? (don't laugh, it's a better hoops conference than people give it credit for) Israeli Rocket, you might have heard of his dad. ------------------
Maloney has a consistant outside jumper? God man you must be watchin tapes from his rookie year like me! He can't shoot nuthin like he use to! ------------------ I'm tha hip hop attracta, rapper slash acta, right back at cha!
Gee Gervin oughtta be ashamed of himself. He's the son of a basketball great. There's no excuse for him to not be one of the top college prospects. You'd think that his dad would teach him a few things to make him a better player. ------------------ treasurer of the moochie norris fan club
Gee Gervin is the son of the legendary George Gervin. Gee recently graduated from the University of Houston, where he played for Clyde Drexler. He played point guard, but he was the focal point of the offense, and is looked upon as a scorer more than a passer. He's about the size of Iverson, but not as quick and athletic. ------------------ I will demonstrate my clutchness this November.
Don't forget that his dad was five or six inches taller than him at 6'7. 6'2 scrawny point guards are a dime a dozen. ------------------ I will demonstrate my clutchness this November.
Yeah but Gee still should be better than what he is now. I mean you all say his shot isnt very good... if you're a 6'2 pg, and you have an NBA great for your dad, then you should definately know how to shoot well. Unless the original Iceman was a lousy shooter... was he? ------------------ treasurer of the moochie norris fan club
