Saw an article about this and wanted to know what are people's most anticipated albums for 2011? For me, there are quite a few: PJ Harvey - Let England Shake Asobi Seksu - Fluorescence Panda Bear - Tomboy Radiohead - TBA M83 - TBA Aphex Twin - TBA Beck - TBA Coldplay - TBA Gang of Four - Content Wire - Red Barked Tree Others include new releases from Battles, Nick Cave, Low, Portishead, British Sea Power, and RHCP. Not confirmed but rumoured - Animal Collective (although I find it hard to believe that they would release an album the same year that Panda Bear is releasing a solo album) and Deerhunter/Atlas Sound/Lotus Plaza (just because these guys always seem to be releasing new stuff). Looks like 2011 is going to be a better year in music than 2010 was. http://stereogum.com/582501/50-most-anticipated-albums-of-2011/franchises/listomania/
Chad Smith announced this week it will be released in June. Supposedly they experimented with African style music that they picked up on a trip to Ethiopia and Nigeria, could be interesting or completely stupid
Rise Against will have another album come March 2011. Seether is suppose to have one this summer as well. Can't wait for either one.
Now you're resorting to "What are you GOING to listen to" threads? Knowing there's a problem is half the battle.
looking forward to new strokes, ryan adams, iron and wine and bright eyes in the next couple months. rhcp can blow magic johnson as far as i'm concerned. most overrated band in the history of bands.
I just got the new Cut Copy. It's pretty good after a few listens. Also have the new Star*****er as well. Others I'm looking forward to: M83 Jens Lekman The Strokes Death Cab Radiohead Coldplay Lykke Li Spencer Krug James Blake Fiona Apple Surfer Blood Explosions in the Sky I don't think any year will beat 2010 in the next decade. It was amazing last year.
M83 Fiona Apple And ONE DAY Detox from Dr. Dre. Swear, been waiting on this album for like 4 or 5 years it seems. Radiohead of course. Also heard A Perfect Circle are thinking about another album. Who knows with Maynard though.
also looking forward to getting the new cake and cage the elephant. but have to finish going through 2010 before i start 2011.
Probably not in the indie circle but in mine, the "Manny Ramirez" circle, 2011 could be the best year yet - just look at it (this is assuming that each artist on this list releases an actual album): Radiohead Panda Bear Coldplay Aphex Twin M83 Asobi Seksu PJ Harvey Nick Cave Low Animal Collective The Strokes Deerhunter/Atlas Sound/Lotus Plaza Beck Battles All that would be left is for Wilco and Grizzly Bear to release their next studio albums. Brightside - tell me about this James Blake character - whose music is he similar to?
Chamillionaire - Venom Kanye West x Jay-Z - Watch the Throne Big Sean - Finally Famous Talib Kweli - Gutter Rainbows Elzhi - Elmatic Pete Rock x SNW - Monumental Dr. Dre - Detox Q-Tip - The Last Zulu J. Cole - Cole World And my three most anticipated albums of 2011... RAEKWON - SHAOLIN VS. WU-TANG JAY ELECTRONICA - ACT II NAS - LOST TAPES PT. 2!!!!!!!
Big Sean's Finally Famous and J Cole's Cole World are my most anticipated albums. I've seen both of them live in the last 3 months. They're the future of Hip-Hop.
