As some of you may have seen I am trying to sell some extra tickets.
I had a few extra tix left for today's game.
Some of our kids/families couldn't attend because of the Holiday, odd game time, etc.
I parked my car across the street from Toyota Center and as soon as I hopped out I guess a guy noticed the thick envelope of tickets I had in my hand.
"Do you have any extra tickets?" He asked.
I replied "Yea, I might have some but I need to meet with my group first."
He responded with "I'm ready to buy all of those tickets right now!"
I said "Sure man just let me meet with my group first."
Dude was really adamant about me selling him the tickets, almost crackhead status.
One of my friends I was with told me to watch out it might be a cop.
I didnt think it was illegal to sell tickets especially under face value, across the street from the venue, but I wasnt sure so I let it go.
Anyone have the legit info on this?
We really coulda used some extra cash and we have some more games coming up and dont want to miss out on another opportunity unless it involves a chance of going to prison.

I have been buying tix from then for many years. I usually buy it after the 1st Q so it's a lot cheaper. I stopped doing that now cuz there's flashstx bidding.

The best thing to do is sell your tickets in front of the box or near the entrance.

I don't think scalping your tickets is illegal, even if selling for above face value. However, there is a city ordinance prohibiting the sale of merchandise on public property w/o a permit. So I guess there is potential liability there.

I've bought and sold tickets from/to those guys multiple times.

If you are going to sell, wait until you are 100% sure or else they won't leave you alone.

This man sure is right. I've also bought and sold to the folks around the Toyata Center and they're just trying to make a buck, its all good, I'm sure some of them are really crackheads and find scalping tickets is a good hustle.

You missed out on a few bucks buddy, now you know.

Sounds like one of the ticket scalpers were trying to pick those tickets up from you to resell them. It's not illegal because those guys have always been out there since I can remember.

Scalping is legal in Texas, but you're supposed to report your income and charge sales tax.
