If Nets expect meeting this week (and they do) and Melo's serious about not wanting one (we'll see), Prokhorov may finally have to surrender

I still believe he will not go to the Nets.

It will be the NYK or a West conference team, with the Knicks being the favorite to land him, even tho I think they will not make a good offer because they still think that if Melo lands in free agency, it would not be a contest. The Knicks would get him for free, instead of losing some players that could be important for them to compete with Miami going forward.

Why would Melo go to a HUGE risk so so so reward rebuilding franchise??? It doesn´t make sense for him, but hey, he will decide sooner or later, so no point in speculating too much.

If Melo wanted to be a Net, he would already be one by now.

I think it's pretty obvious he's not interested.

I'm wondering too, but if true, is he disconnected from his agent that is supposedly trying to arrange all these machinations with the Nets and Pistons?

No, he's not disconnected. This is about getting to NY with his extension. It's all posturing to get the Nuggets to have to take less from the Knicks or possibly a third team (Houston).

I think Rocket fans should take note. You don't just change a grown man's opinion by "convincing them" when they get here.

If Russian billionaire can't sell Melo his NJ/Brooklyn Nets, although its just on the other side of the river of his preferred location, then what makes you think Rockets can convince him to sign the extension?

I hope Morey doesn't waste his time/resources on a Melo rental.

If it is true that he is not interested, then the Nets and their fans deserve to be furious.

    Couldn't agree more

Melo has everything laid out for him in N.J., the money, the showcase, a good coach, but he only wants to be a Knick

Can't see how the Rockets gain anything by trying to "rent" him for three months

    A real lose-lose situation

We lose talent by overpaying for his 3 month "service", then we lose him at the end of the season - no thanks

Why? I don't remember him ever saying he was interested. It's not like he led them on.

I agree with you, but the numbers and picks have to align up too. Its not all up to the players opinions on where they go. It is a business. We seem to get so caught up in these players egos and forget the numbers!

I think we can all agree across the board that sports has really been changing. These players get to play a game there whole life, make alot of money, and groupies and all and still aint happy. When you got people working at jack n the box and jobs paying 7.00 dollars and they are happy. Im sure complaining about not being able to afford alot of stuff but happy.

Geezz, I know the day will come when sports will be eliminated altogether in my life. So much more to life then justs sports!

Im getting tired of all the drama Ladies and Gentlemen!!!
