If you heard Morey speaking during the D-League showcase this is no surprise. They've been trying to get him down to get some pt for a while now. If not for injuries he likely would have gone down with Pat. I'll have to bump the RGV dleague thread when he starts playing so we can keep an eye on how he does.
maybe williams's jumpshooting will improve for once if the rockets actually do send him to the d-league.
Something will happen by the end of january, you guys already waited 3+ years, what's another 3 weeks?
Good for Ish. I really love his game and I am glad the Rockets are keeping and developing him. His instincts and skills are pretty rare for pg's in the NBA nowadays.
----------- With the DPE that has to be used before February , trade deadline approaching and the fact that we are playing inconsistent basketball at the moment, plus the fact that we need a center led me to believe that management just might be looking into a trade or two. Give all the excuses you like why they won't free T-will, but the one that makes the most sense at this point in time is that they are looking at potential trade options for him, and don't want to risk injury. If it sounds like I'm obsessed with trades, it is because I'm obsessed with my Rockets trying to win now and land that potential star or building block for our future and not obsessed with tanking the season so we can rebuild through a weak draft.
Good news, he can use time to develop his jumper etc. The Rox still have at least 1 too many players though, they have no roster flexibility at all. I would like them to bring up Sean Williams for a look at center but they have no room....they need a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 deal...or maybe trading a guy for a 2nd round pick to clear some room. DD
With Ish and Jeff Adrien, RGV is going to dominate. I'm surprised I haven't seen any mention of Adrien here. He is averaging 20 and 12.2 since joining RGV (all wins) and his last three games have been monsters averaging 27 and 14. He is also avg. 2.7 blocks for RGV. He is undersized on paper but word is he plays much bigger. http://www.nba.com/dleague/playerfile/jeff_adrien/index.html?nav=page
Sorry Clutch and fans, I didn't see this thread before I made one in NBA Dish but Clutch locked anyway...
I have a feeling that, if Jeffries gets bought out after the trade deadline or if the Rockets somehow end up with fewer than 15 players on the roster, the Rockets call up Adrien and perhaps even sign him to an "Alexander Johnson-type" contract for the remainder of the season with a non-guaranteed salary for 2011-12. I like the guy, although he is WAYYY undersized at the PF position. Great rebounder and pretty good defender, though.
