Anything Giamatti is in, he just makes it better. Terrific actor and a well-deserved win. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kiOuroHPxRQ?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kiOuroHPxRQ?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
but it's still a big thing, you'd think they'd realize there's almost no room to walk through in between the tables. what's the last thing he said? Don't remember anything worse than what he had said earlier. Oh, there he is now...
No surprise at Social Network dominating at the show. Definitely deserved the best soundtrack, screenplay, writer, director, and movie which it won for all of them. Still wish Inception could've walked away with something, but I can't complain with the awards given to Social Network.
Wow. I'm sure thats the last time Ricky Gervais is going to be asked to do an awards show. He knew it too with that final joke at the end, "Thank God for making me an atheist." Ouch
I would've gave Inception at least one of the Best Picture films Btw, did you guys catch the end? "Thank you God for making me an atheist" haha
Well Inception couldn't exactly win for best comedy, although the Tourist was nominated in it for some reason... Regardless, as for best drama, I'd give the nod to Social Network, even though I wouldn't complain if Inception won either. Both were excellent movies IMO.
It was clear from the start that Ricky was going to give everyone a hard time throughout the night. I really do think everyone in the audience was upset with him. So, I do think some of those talking on stage were giving genuine reactions to it that indicated to me they were too good for his style of deprecating humor. I now view them as elitist snobs more than ever before as they couldn't take it. I was waiting on them to come up there and start defending each other. Did you see Bruce Willis? I thought he was completely shocked and extremely mad at his introduction. He seemed almost incoherent babbling and butchering some of his words. I was expecting him to go punch Ricky after he got offstage (maybe Ricky disappeared having to touch up a black eye with more make-up?). I think the elitist snobs could have just had fun with it by it really felt like they were defending themselves from attack. For once, the awards felt awkward for a different reason. I thought it was pretty funny. I was waiting on Sean Penn to make a surprise appearance and defend Jude Law again. Bunch of elitist snobs who can't take a joke is what it felt like. Ricky was clearly going for an attack style in-your-face comedy style that they didn't appear to like much. It seemed to put a damper on all the ass kissing going on...which left the audience wondering where they needed to go post show to make up for some lost ass kisses.
Like I said, ( or meant to ) the Golden globe awards is the most over the top of the award shows because while it has merit on t.v. selections, it really seems strangely lost on movie selections and has shown this again this year being no surprise... In other words, the globe awards try to be more than what it should... I love movies, and when the Oscars comes around, I'll pay more attention. . .
