What are some shows/cartoons/events...etc that you'd like to see in movie form? here are some of mine; Evengelion The Dyatlov Pass Incident Serious retelling of the 1996 Mt Everest Disaster. There's already a movie of this...haven't seen it but apparently it's major cheese-ball. A big budget remake of Fist of Fury. Jet Li's Fist of Legend had awesome fight scenes, but I didn't like the way it handled the story or characters. My favourite retelling of the story is the series Fist of Fury starring Donnie Yen, but would love to see it in big budget movie form. Dragonlance movie. OK I'm a nerd...I used to read the books Big budget retelling of Monkey Magic...and no, not the recent 'The Forbidden Kingdom'... Hmm, that's all I can think of for now. What are some of yours?
I would love to see a Command and Conquer Tierian Sun movie. I was obsessed with that game when I was younger. As long it was a major budget film and not a cheesy creation like all the other game to movie creations otherwise it may ruin my whole perception of the game.
Metal Gear Solid even though they would butcher it. More people need to be exposed to the awesome story/music.
Anime is the way to go! Cowboy Bebop Robotech(all 3 series) Gatchaman, Battle of The Planet Ninja Scroll If it's done properly these will be awesome.
Well written/produced movies based on: -Grand Theft Auto franchise -Zelda as well -Tolkien's book, The Silmarillion (miniseries might be better though) -The Historian, by Elizabeth Kostova. Excellent book.
I would like to see a good HP Lovecraft movie that was faithful to the atmosphere of HP Lovecraft. There have been some shlocky low budget movies loosely based on Lovecraft but nothing that lived up to Lovecraft. I could see a director like Christopher Nolan doing a great job with a "At the Mountains of Madness" movie or even M. Night Shymalan (provided he doesn't alter the story) with "The Shadow over Innsmouth". I think a movie around one or both battles of Fallujah could be very interesting but would need a good director to pull it off. I could see a movie that places the battle into the wider context of the invasion of Iraq and war on terror sort of like Traffic or could be a more direct telling of the battle sort of like Blackhawk Down. As a Rockets fan I would like to see a movie made about the 1995 Rockets. Of course though no movie could compare to the real thing.
The Silmarillion might be hard to pull off as a miniseries but the tale of Turin Turambar might make a good movie.
I will have to go with some ORSON SCOTT CARD The Ender Series. . . The Alvin Marker Series Rocket River
The Keep - yes, there was an AWFUL 80s version, but I think a faithful adaptation, done with the right, creepy style, would be a great movie. The Repairman Jack series - supposedly a film is in the works, but it's been years with no production in sight. The Jack Reacher series - again, a film is supposedly in the works, but there's been little to no movement for quite a while. The Dark Knight Returns - I'd love to see a senior-citizen Bruce Wayne kicking some butt. Duke Nukem - Could be hilariously epic, if done correctly.
Ender's Game Loved this book. Xenophobia killed the series in my opinion and Speaker, unlike Ender's game, is not a self supported novel. Halo. This could be a great movie. Most likely it will be an enjoyable popcorn flick only.
Both The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. The Fountainhead was made back in the day, but its not that good.
