I'm sorry, but ALL OF YOU ARE MISTAKEN

The best burger belongs to [BHARDEE'S/CARL'S Jr[/B] in my NOT so HUMBLE opinion[/B]

    Five guys is definitely overrated.

But I will say that In 'n Out for the price is great value and great quality. I can totally see why people like it, as do I! But for the greatest BANG for the BUCK, it's Paris.... errr.... I mean, Hardee's BABY!

I don't eat meat, but used to and back then had 5 Guys in DC and it was great. Stopped by the one on WAshington Ave the other day and got some fries and was entirely unimpressed. Cant comment on burger of course, but suffice it to say as theyve grown through franchising so quickly the quality is probably not consistent and location dependent.

    That's what she said...

I saw they are opening 5 Guys Burgers in Pearland. Gonna see what all this discussion is all about once it opens. Still mad about Fuddruckers closing here.

Also wanted to add that I had one of the best "plain ol' burgers" I have ever had at a hole-in-the-wall in a hole-in-the-earth city called Scott, Arkansas. Very nice people in there - a farming community from the looks of it. Their burgers apparently always get rated high, so I thought I'd stop by either this location or the one in Little Rock on the way back from Memphis before Christmas. They have a 1 pound burger called the Hubcap Burger. The name of the place is Cotham's Mercantile. Better than probably any burger I've ever had because of the seasonings they used in the meat.

Sorry for the large lame ancient-iPhone images :

Chili's seems to do that to all of their stuff. I can't even eat there anymore.

I have yet to eat at a joint that puts as much salt on their food as they do.

Chili's is glorified fast food. You get your check and think, "really? i'm paying that for this?"

Except that they do put crack in their queso.

They opened a Five Guys here in League City and I love it. Best burger in town, esp. a town like League City, which was begging for a good burger joint.

It helps that two of my kids got jobs there. Mmmmm, free food always tastes best!

That's only because you don't have access to in and out. I am around in and out all the time ,and I can tell you it gets a big huge yawn from me.

In and out has no variety- no chicken, no breakfast burritos , nothing. Whataburger burger itself is comparable if not better to the burger from in and out. And don't start talking about 'animal style' another yawn. I put Carl jrs portobello mushroom burger above in and out.

There is a 5 guys here in san diego where I am right now and it is pretty good. In fact I would say it's on par with fuddruckers or your local burger ma and pop joint.

The best sandwich( call it a chicken burger) is actually the chicken grilled sandwich at becks prime. Go treat yourself if you are in houston. Awesome. I assume becks prime is still open?

This past holiday season I ate at Louis' Lunch. It's where the hamburger sandwich was born. They created it. They don't allow Ketchup or Mustard or Mayo on their burgers. It's served on white bread.

It was actually an amazing burger. I still think condiments wouldn't hurt, and if I had the opportunity to eat it again, I might take it to go so I could put condiments on. They don't even allow you to bring your own into the place. Also the place is incredibly small. It's the original building which they actually had to move the whole building to a new location. But these guys are obviously sticklers for tradition.

Anyway if anyone is ever in New Haven CT. check it out. They do have 5 Guys in CT. but I can't imagine it is better than Louis' Lunch.

LOL. They both work evenings. There is no free food at noon. :)

To be sure, I don't get my food free there. But the kids get a free meal when they work. Since they are now sick of burgers every day, they bring those free meals to me. So effectively, I'm getting free food delivered to me.

No, no, no, you got it all wrong. You are still invited for noon today. Wipe those tears away, daddy.

(I won't be there, and you'll be paying your own way, but the invitation stands)

You may have to go back to page 2 of this thread, but I did see some favorable comments on their dogs, Fatty.

    In-N-Out overrated?

Find me a better $2 burger and real potato fries for that cheap.

    Bet you can't.
