I had been using one of those "Pur" filters, but didn't like the taste much, so I was strictly drinking bottled water. Then a few months back I bought one of those "ZeroWater" pitchers and couldn't believe how much better it tasted. I was actually going through it so fast that I decided to buy a bigger pitcher. The best thing was, I found a rebate and got it for half price! I would highly recommend one of these. If anyone is interested here is the link to the rebate. Use a Bed, Bath & Beyond 20% off coupon, then use the rebate. The ZeroWater comes with an item to measure the hardness of the water, and the levels in tap water, the water from the Pur filter, and even the bottled water are crazy. I suppose that's why the ZeroWater tastes so much better. Pugs
I use one of those reverse osmosis water filters that go under the sink. The upfront cost are much greater and you have to do some installing, but its just like getting bottled water from the sink after your're done.
I just heard on TV today (Modern Marvells - Packaging) that if you buy a bottle of water for $1.35 that you can keep refilling it for 10 years before you'd spend another $1.35. That kinda puts things in a different perspective for me. I have a Britta I keep in the fridge but I just as often drink from the tap.
we have an reverse osmosis system. http://www.khou.com/news/Radiation-...-Long-history-of-contamination-108307474.html BOTTLED WATER At least 90 percent of the price of a bottle of water is for things other than the water itself, like bottling, packaging, shipping and marketing.[32] 44 percent of ‘purified’ bottled water sold in the U.S. started out as municipal water.[33] 827,000 to 1.3 million tons of plastic PET water bottles were produced in the U.S. in 2006, requiring the energy equivalent of 50 million barrels of oil. 76.5 percent of these bottles ended up in landfills.34 http://www.cleanair.org/Waste/wasteFacts.html
Do I picked bottled or Ozarka if I buy Ozarka bottled water? I had one of the zero water pitchers but didn't read the instructions and ran it through the washer, which cracked it. It was an impulse buy to boot, and after coming home and reading reviews on it, I got scared off of buying another one. The reviews said that the rate the users were going through the filters was very high and that the filters weren't cheap. Would be interested what your opinions are on the filters since you had one a couple of months pugs. I do agree the water that I tried before tossing it out due to the crack tasted very good.
