Brooks looks frustrated on the bench

Only 15 minutes tonight with Martin back in but he looks pretty healthy. He's been sitting on the bench while Lowry closes out games. He definately looks unhappy on the bench.

Game Analysis thread, please use it. It should be obvious he's going to be unhappy.

Early in the season, we said we were searching for an identity. I think we've found our true identity--we're CLUELESS ON DEFENSE.

We're the team that can't defend in the 4th quarter. No matter how big our lead is, opponents always have a chance to win.

Pick-and-roll defense--I'm sure they teach that even in high school basketball. We make it an art to put up token defense.

You'd think RA knew Martin and Scola are liabilities on defense and he'd try Lee and JJ/Patterson. He tried JJ once then withdrew it again when West dunked on JJ. Then he keeps complaining we can't defend. HAHA

I'm just wondering who will get fired first--RA or DM????

Brooks should have had the last shot at the end of the 4th. Kyle just dribbled around in circles

Can't blame him--it's his contract season and he isn't getting big games. He'll be worried about his next contract.

Say what you will about Ariza but that guy makes winning plays even when he's shooting badly in the game. I'm talking about his late 3 and a couple of putbacks.

He has guts. He forces the action and he accepts the consequences.

Even as I like Lee's play so far, I miss TA playing on our team--where btw he had a better percentage than now.

The unhappy look could be because of the teasm performance as well. I hoope thats the case. Because I dont like anyone that puts himself above the team. JJ is the perect example, dude never b!itc@s or makes demands, he just does his job no matter what is being asked.

If Lowry can play behind Brooks, why cant Brooks play behind Lowry?

JJ doesnt have to worry. the kinda contract he has/had makes anyone happy. Bryan cook didnt complain thats another good example.

This. Right now his value is decreasing compared to his value at the start of this season after gaining MIP award at the end of last season.

I am pretty indifferent on Ariza. I liked him most of the time. I'm just poking fun at his free throws, just like I probably would've had it been Chuck Hayes we traded. Ariza did miss a couple crunch time free throws tonight. I used to play the game with some people last year where I'd guess whether Ariza would miss the first or his second free throw. Fun times.

Oh and here is some footage of people leaving right before the start of the overtime that I captured against the Hornets. Myself and quite a few others- Rowdies and nonRowdies were talking about how much we couldn't believe people left before the start of the Jazz overtime, but people on TV probably couldn't see that, just like they couldn't see it against the Hornets. Another reason the Red Rowdies will probably be around for awhile.

Martin was playing fantastic in the third quarter, both offensively and defensively, so it made sense for Adelman to go with Martin and Lowry (also playing well) down the stretch.

But yeah, trying to insert two starters back into the rotation really messed up the playing times and minutes of some of the guys. Just too many players who need minutes to get into rhythm.

No team is afraid of us. Even if we're up 20 in the 4th, the other team still has a good chance to come back. What a pathetic excuse for a basketball team!

Well said. I think one fact that is lost on a lot of fans is that we are not really a young team by any stretch. Aside from PP, I dont see any player on this team getting appreciably better than they are right now, and with our roster as-is, we're not in any position to compete for a championship...I look at teams like the Timberwolves, Kings, Wizards, Grizzlies, and Clippers, and although I wouldnt want to be in their boat from a win-loss perspective, I see a direction. I see an accumulation of young talent that is experiencing growing pains, and in the process, the development of future stars in this league. If their front offices dont screw it up- and thats a big if-they have a bright future in the coming years.

The problem with the trade deadline is that you either have teams that have underperformed like us looking to make moves, or you have upper tier teams that feel they are a player away from making it to the finals looking to upgrade. I've said it before, but I feel like our most attractive assets are Scola and Martin, and to a lesser extent, AB and PP. The real question will be trying to find value for them. Would it be worth trading them to a mediocre team for their first round pick and lesser talent? I doubt we'd get a comparable player in 10-15 range of the draft, let alone the 15+ range.

I guess my point is that realistically, I dont see a clear process for strategically gutting this team or getting over the hump to compete. All I can see us doing is getting incrementally better, and in doing so, remaining in the purgatory that is mediocrity.

Didn't see all the game. But I'm wondering why we aren't seeing Lowry, Brooks, Martin in together down the stretch, at least on the offensive end and then sub out Lee and Battier for D in half court sets.

Him playing behind Lowry isnt working. Yes Lowry's playing good, but we're not closing games. I'm sure Brooks feels he's that guy but coach A is being stubborn again

Brooks should have closed this game. He's the only closer on this team.....You'd think Adelman would realize that after all those game winners last year. FIRE ADELMAN!

I was hoping for Lowry/Brooks to finish together.

I think Martin is the guy to take out in the 4th.

Can't blame Adelman, he has tried everything. Brooks was awful in the 4th last game.

Let us watch first 2 quarters, then Turn off the TV

From now on, let us just watch two quarters, then turn off the TV. At least we feel good.

This team is a loser...Rick Adelman has inability to coach last two quarters.
