First off, props to both Jonathan Griffin (SLC Griff) and Nathan Hayden (DarkHorse) for their great recaps of the Revue, both from the <a href="http://www.clutchcity.net/feature.cfm?FeatureID=77">Dallas game</a> and the <a href="http://www.clutchcity.net/feature.cfm?FeatureID=78">Toronto game</a> Sunday. Great stuff... Anyhow, I was out the door this morning to work and barely had time to get up their reports, but I had to take out the ending part of it to further research it. I think you might find this interesting: <UL> "After the game we saw [well known Rocket staffer] and went over to chat. We asked him a few questions about the Mobley Situation, while he was guarded with what he told us, you know the rules, he mentioned only Chicago worries him. Toronto is not a factor and never has been. He hopes Cat comes back. I made a joke to him that since Mark Young is wearing #5 should we read anything into that, he chuckled and did not answer. We also talked about the Langhi/Najera trade and he said Langhi should have been a 1st rounder (although he shared the same concerns about adding weight to him). He said Najera looks better right now because this is Dallas 2nd draft camp and that he wasn't overly impressed with Najera. He also was very interested in what Nellie was saying about the Rox. When I told him he wasn't very happy. We also found out from him that Alex Jensen is nursing a sore ankle and that is why he has not seen any action. No word on why Venson Hamilton isn't playing. We then headed over to talk to a few players but only Drew and Rayford Young would talk to us. They were already loading into their SUVs to head back to the hotel." [/list] Though I'm not convinced Mobley is leaving for Toronto (I have a hard time believing it), I do know if an offer comes (meaning if Rashard and Croshere say 'nay' to the Raptors) it will be for a hell of a lot of money. I don't place much stock in Dave D'Allessandro's report that Mobley is leaning towards Houston because in the same sentence he says it is down to Detroit and Milwaukee for Tim Thomas... and he's about to sign with Chicago. It's a sad league when Tim Thomas gets the max ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
Clutch- just to let you know Tim Thomas completely changed his mind today, and has agreed to resign with Milwaukee. Maybe that report is right after all. ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com
Dammit. That sucks. I was counting on him leaving to weaken that draft pick of theirs... err, ours. I guess the Chicago Tribune is feeling stupid ("<a href="http://chicagosports.com/bulls/content/story/0,1984,92165,00.html">Bulls land Thomas with 6-year deal</a>") Geez is Chicago hating life right about now... pretty soon they're going to have to throw the max at Jacque Vaughan. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET [This message has been edited by Clutch (edited July 24, 2000).]
hmmmmmm...well, now that Chicago is a no no for Thomas....what was that about Toronto?? 8~P Don't read as fast as I useta! ------------------ In the end there will be no judges...only witnesses to my greatness. [This message has been edited by Curly (edited July 24, 2000).]
If Allesandro was right about Thomas headin to either Detroit or Milwaukee, then he might be right about Mobley leaning towards Toronto. Plus, why did Cuttino say that it was either Toronto or Houston? Was Cuttino lying all along? I hope this Rocket guy is right... and if he his, I hope Chicago dont get MObley. ------------------ treasurer of the moochie norris fan club
MAN!! with all that Cap money Are the Bulls gonna completely strike out? Rocket River I guess the slash and Burn style of Capology is not working ------------------
Most likely the reason that Rockets staff member was concerned about CHicago and not Toronto is because now Chicago has alot of money to offer a middle-tier player such as Mobley. Realistically, the only players worthy of throwing a lot of money at (assuming Eddie Jones doesnt want to go their either) would be Austin Croshere and Cuttino. And they wouldnt really need Croshere when they have a similar player in Fizer. Chicago does have a position open for a 2 guard/Pg combo that can score a lot of points and I wouldnt be surprised to see them offer Cuttino a lot of money. Plus, their young star plays a post position, unlike a certain VInce Carter in Toronto or Steve Francis in Houston. Honestly, Im really worried baout CHicago also. ------------------ When I die I want to go peacefully like my grandfather. Not screaming like the passengers in the back seat!
