    So is there no way to avoid having your news spewed all over the news and TV when you win something like that?

    Can't you get a lawyer and claim it without sticking your head out for all the would be beggars, gold diggers, kidnappers, freeloaders, etc to see?

    If you read the back of the ticket it says they have the right to use you for advertising.

    99% of the people in this world don't know how to manage that kind of cash.

    They can use you for advertising if they want. I know in Australia a lottery winner had a child kidnapped and killed and the government there passed legislation where winners can remain anonymous.

    depending on the state you can create an LLC or trust to claim the ticket and your name will remain anonymous. The LLC or trust will hold the assets rather than the individual
