I was looking for a thread about show and was surprised not to find one.

I'm almost 30 but I think this show is great. I don't watch Teens shows at all but this one is bit more naughty.

I just finished the first volume on netfix.

funny, I let my little sister watch it with me yesterday and she asked me if one of the characters was on Slum Dog and I didn't think so. I guess I was wrong.

that one dude lost his mental faculties
    ...so I lost interest.

It's closer to the original Degrassi than the new Degrassi is.

    Skins is Degrassi on steroids.

First generation was great; they dropped the ball with the second generation. Second generation had so much promise too with Pandora and Effy, who was a f**king genius in the first two seasons, coming back. Second generation focused too much on that weird love triangle and then the end was absolute trash. The only good episode from the second generation cast was when JJ was courting that one chick from his job

The third Generation looks promising; they can't do much worse than last two seasons.

I'm excited to see where they are going to go with this cast. I hope they write it so they are all close friends like in series 1 and 2.

Have y'all checked out the American version showing on MTV? Its pretty good being a remake series and all, well the office was a BBC series too and we see how that turned out.The first episodes are almost the same, and it's crazy how updated it seems even though it's been 5 years since the one in Britain came out. I am going to watch each US version every week, then watch the British counterpart and compare.

It is already different in the American version as they have replaced the gay character, with a lesbian. Lol.

Hot water and 1/2 as racy as the BBC version. Funny how our society can't accept that teenagers do crazy stuff regardless of the stupid morals we try to instill in them. I got a feeling it's getting canned.

Showtime on the other hand has turned Shameless into a good translation.

    Ketchup,

    You should really reconsider.

    Bump

Liked the first episode of the new generation. Hopefully we see a little more of the mysterious stranger who appears out of nowhere while Franky vents.

Oh Franky... I felt as if I was watching a flashback of me when I first moved to Cypress.

This has probably been regurgitated an endless number of times, but Mini and Liv are exact carbon copies of Cassie and Jal, respectively. Personally, I find Mini a lot more attractive than, but not as manipulative as Cassie was. Maybe that's just me...

Poor Grace, she's Chris Bosh to Mini's D-Wade and Liv's LeBron James.

The Alo (the redhead) and Rich (the metalhead) pairing looks like a reprisal of Maxxie and Anwar from the first generation.

As always, the music is top-notch.

    Just watched the 3rd episode.

The first episode of the season got me worried; I thought it was kind of boring and unable to fill an hour of programing. The next two episodes, Rich and Mini, brought me back; the characters are starting to grow on me now. It seems the writers are taking on a less stylized version of teen life. They are actually writing as if they are REAL teenagers not hedonistic monsters.

A lot less drugs and sex, but it still works. It's sad the British fans want more debauchery; they are missing a gem season right now.

After not liking the cast being "un-friendly" initially, I am very happy the way it is shaping out. We are watching them build a friendship instead of being told they are friends.

Gracie - steals the show every time she is on screen

Mini - after last nights episode has become a very interesting character
