Kenny isn't near mediocre, especially with his footwork giving him the ability to make quick moves to the basket or handle the low post.
Though, he is almost a "black hole".

I just don't know how well the ball is going to be spread between Stevie, Mobley, and Thomas?
Wouldn't be surprised to see him gone by February.

Rudy T wasnt referring to the Dream when he made the statement, he was talking about the team, a six seed in the Western Conference. While coming off a mediocre season ,this team had the Heart of a Champion............This one man team kind of thinking is why the USA got beat in the World games this year........And that is why we need KENNY, Because when this team returns to the playoffs, Heart will be the difference between winning & losing!!!!!

I hope the Rockets keep Kenny and extend his contract with the organization. I just don't know how much money he's looking for.
As long as it's in the ballpark of 30mil for 6 or 7 years, I think that should work.

Unloading Rice &/or Taylor seems more prudient. Problem is are there any takers. I'm assuming Thomas would resign for Malik Rose type money. KT is a 3 on D & a 4 on O just like Scorless Corliss.

going back to the first post...

if memory serves me correctly, which it almost certainly does:D, rudy's actual words were: "Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion."

sorry, but i just felt i needed to fix it

Chuck was a great power forward for 6'4 and Kenny is a legit 3 & 4 at 6'7! Kenny deserves to be a Rocket!

talkin bout chuckster, i went to a book signing in birmingham today.

he was there signing his new book and "campaigning" for the alabama gubernatorial position. well, not officially.

he wouldnt even talk to the media!!!

anyway, i asked him what was the difference between him and the jet?

    he said "what?"

i said "kenny won a championship"

now i wasnt really tryin to be funny, and im sure hes heard it before...many many times, but i then told him i was from tuscaloosa (home of his auburn rival alabama) and he told me that they were in for a nice "ass whoopin' this year".

quickly, i asked him about the rockets this year.

he didnt say much more than what he did on draft night, when he said he wasnt impressed with yao.

but he does think itll be a good year:) .

Barkley was probably the best powerforward of all time. He had big Heart, but I thought he would have helped the Rockets more if he didnt have such a big Mouth. I hope he stays retired and Kenny retires a Rocket in about 10 years.

KT is a Rocket and has worked his arse off to improve. His toughness is something this team cannot lose, you can only have so many scorers. KT is the man to do the dirty work and be a constant physical presence on the boards.

I like Kenny, but your post seems like you are trying to sleep with him or something. He is a hard worker--let's not go overboard with this.

Best word to describe Kenny Thomas: Overacheiver

I thinks thats why so many of us are fond of him. He is like Othella Harrington in that respect.

I am not a KT fan, Iam a Rocket Fan, I dont even have a favorite player. The only thing that gains my respect is WORK ETHIC.

I like both Othella and KT. KT is the better offensive player and Othella was certainly more of a black hole than Kenny. If OH ever got the ball, it NEVER came back out.

There was one other thing that he said quite often back then that is MORE meaningful than that... "DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS"

Dont forget Carl Herrera. He couldnt even get an assist from Goodwill. Not to mention that fact that he got called for traveling 3 times a game.
