Lowry was tking threes because they werent getting anything else offensively..similar to battier's 3, he had to take it because 4 seconds wasnt enough to get a good shot with the guys they had on the floor. Miller needs time to get a pass and work a play, scola needs time to post and throw fakes, etc...They needed more athleticism out there to overtake Utah.
It is. Adelman made poor substitutions, didn't recognize the issues on the court, was unable to get his team fired up with any passion, and let this game get away. WITH the refs favoring the rockets no less. Just face it, tonight the game was Adelman's fault.
The game was lost when Ish was taken out for playing to good and makin Lowry look bad. Rick is stupid. Lowry sucks as a starter and should play behind Ish. Real point gaurds can shoot the ball.
Lee, little minutes great defense. Ppad, little minute great defense. Ish & T will talent waiting to be develop. Chase have wake up good talent and playing well as a late. +vets like Kmart, Scola, Kyle. Remember, not Brooks missing tons of games while in this crucial stretch we lost Chuck top 3 best post defender in the NBA and a smart defender. We got talent and between key injuries and a coach who refuse to play the young talent or defense over offense we got this team.
On top of scoring at will, Millsap did a great job defending Scola in the fourth quarter. He used his strength to push scola off the low block and out of his comfort zone on almost every shot. I haven't seen Scola get outmuscled like that in quite a while. Despite having Jefferson and Millsap, Utah's frontcourt didn't look imposing at all. Too bad Houston could not take advantage. .
It still means SOMETHING. And the Blazers didn't kick the Rockets' ass in the second game. The Rockets choked it away. Replay that game 10 times and the Rockets win 6-7 times. But, yeah, they are playing pretty damn well now even without Roy. Still, missing a healthy Roy (if there's even such a thing anymore) will cost the Blazers some games that they'd otherwise win. I mean, we can claim that we beat the Lakers without Yao, but that doesn't mean that the Rockets aren't going to lose (and have lost) many games due to the absence of a healthy Yao.
So if a player performs poorly, it's the coach's fault? I really think that's what you guys are saying. Because this is far from the first time that Adelman is getting the brunt of the blame. And it's totally undeserved.
I have always supported Adelman, but tonight my view has changed. I don't see why Scola and most of all Miller saw so many minutes in the second half and Hill and most of all Patterson saw no minutes. I am very upset. I feel like I could have managed this game better and more efficiently, eve in my current drunken state. There is a positive though.....I am glad I gave away my tickets to tonights game!!! Pugs
Martin had to have a monumental performance for the Rockets to get even close. And Houston still lost. Portland now holds the tiebreakers vs. Houston and Phoenix. And the difficult part of their schedule is over. I don't think they're dropping out of the playoffs.
Yep. Rockets win at least 3 of these games if Hayes plays. I think Hayes's agent has some nice ammunition when talks commence on a new contract after the lockout.
Utah did a great job defending Scola. They double and tipple him the entire 4 quarter. thanks to a atrocious 3 point shooting team tonight we couldn't make them pay.
You're not getting it. If a player is performing poorly time after time, it falls on the coach to take him out of the game and substitute someone who actually gives a damn. Like what Sloan was doing with the Jazz.
