    clearly bobby brown wins. his song is bad-ass - if i want to jam out to some good 80's r&b ill throw this song in along with every little step. bobby brown was on his game back then. throwing out raps about freaking slimer and totally owning that s***. how can you stop that? i get up and dance everytime i hear own our own: theme from ghostbusters II.

    and bobby has the better fashion sense, can rap better, can dance better and got bill murray in his video. he also single-handedly turned whitney houston into a crack-ho, so bonus points there too.

    the question was who had the better theme song for a movie sequel from the 80's?

    highway to the danger zone and im alright rule the school, but theme from caddyshack II cannot stand up next to theme from ghostbusters II...no way.

    With those two choices, I would pick Kenny Loggins. I actually liked his stuff way back in the day, and I enjoyed his work in the 80's and 90's.

    However, my favorite song from a movie sequel in the 80's is Lethal Weapon 2 and George Harrison's Cheer Down.

    Following the thread criteria of better song for a movie sequel: Bobby Brown wins that one going away.

    "Nobody's Fool" is decent power vocal pop but doesnt inspire.

    "On Our Own" brought in a whole different "flava". Made the New Jack style come across smooth. Absolutely agree about the Slimer thing - who else can just toss in a "stupid fresh" rhyme mentioning Slimer while wearing spandex so naturally? On the same soundtrack Run DMC had a rap and it was cheesy. Bobby B beat the rap kings at their own game.

    Just a quality blue eyed soul song. It didnt win a Grammy for nothing.

    Was gonna mention in the last MTV thread how music went away from adult contemporary more accepted all around into a more younger pop demographic all around. Though even as a KID at the time I was just fine with established artists like Billy Joel and Hall and Oates. I surely wasnt the kid who asked for Kids Incorporated music, I didnt know I was supposed to work my way past Kenny Loggins

    He was also a great writer. I've always found it interesting how many women's hits were written by men.

    I still think this is a fun song. Most of his songs were.
