Post your Starting Lineup - updated 1/8 3:30pm Updated Sunday 1/9 @ 11am The number of votes is in parenthesis. PG - Lowry (13), Brooks (3), Williams (2), Smith (1) SG - Martin (16), Lee (2), Williams (1) SF - Battier (12), Williams (6), Martin (1) PF - Scola (12), Hayes (4), Patterson (3) C - Patterson (12), Hayes& Hill (2), Jeffries & Miller & Scola (1) Overall Votes: Martin (17), Patterson (15), Lowry (13), Scola (13), Battier (12), Williams (9), Hayes (6), Brooks (3), Hill & Lee (2), Jeffries & Smith & Miller (1) Edit: Use only current Rocket players! If you want to post one that you think we may end up with, that's fine. At least post one with only current players as well though. I would like to get as many opinions as possible as to who people think should be the starters for the majority of games for the remainder of the season. I put "majority" because I realize some people may miss a few games here and there. I know we could go on another 22 game winning streak and move into 4th or 5th place and that could change everything, or have a big injury, but let's assume everything continues at it's current pace. Let's also assume we get Chuck Hayes and Aaron Brooks back in a timely manner. Yup, a lot of assumptions, but I don't want people saying what if this and what if that. I just want to know who you think should be starting. I will start a tally once it hits 2 pages and we can see who wins out. Feel free to put why you chose who you did. PG - Lowry (Better playmaker and defender; Brooks is instant offense) SG - Martin SF - Battier (Rather have his defense against their best) PF - Scola C - Patterson (I really like what I see, and it looks like he could draw the opposing center away from the basket hitting that outside shot, only problem I see is the fouling) Pugs
Brooks Martin Battier Scola Hayes Bench: Lowry Lee/Bud (depending on matchup) Williams/Bud (depending on matchup) Patterson Hill No Miller in rotation
I'd actually like to see an all defensive line up with Martin in it and see where we can go from there. Lowry Martin Battier Hayes Patterson bench: Brooks/Ish/Williams Lee/Williams Budinger/Williams Scola Hill
pg - me sg - Daryl Morey sf - Adelman pf - Les Alexander c - Clutch the bear. I can guarantee the highest probability for the most ping pong balls.
Starters: Lowry Martin Granger  Paterson Hayes Bench: Twill(yes i think that he can be our back up pg not sf) Lee Battier Hill(if not involved in a trade) Miller Then there would have to be some serious work done over the offseason to get a true center and get deeper at the 4 & 5 spots
no argument here. Starters PG: t-will SG: k-mart SF: Battier PF: Hayes C: Patterson Bench PG: Lowry SG: Brooks SF: Lee PF: Scola C: Hill seeing us being used as a layup line is making me sick.
PG: Chris Paul SG: Dwyane Wade SF: LeBron James PF: Amare Stoudamire C: Dwight Howard Bench: 7 random people pulled off the Houston streets. It's going to happen!
Not so crazy. We lose a pretty good post-up option, but I do think Patterson instead of Scola is an upgrade defensively even if he's a rookie. Adding Brooks back to the starting lineup gives some offensive punch to make up for the loss of Scola. I don't know where this leaves Scola in the rotation, however. Adelman likes Brad Miller and Jordan Hill together. I think ultimately Miller would be the odd man out. Miller is a poor defender, but he does bring a lot to the team on the offensive side.
PG-Billups SG-Martin SF-Melo PF-Scola C- HEALTHY Yao Bench: PG-Lowry SG-Lee SF-Williams PF-Chuck C-Miller
I'd go: PG - Lowry SG - Martin SF - Battier PF - Scola C - [solid defensive center received in a trade] PG - (Williams/Lee) SG - Lee SF - Williams PF - Patterson/Hayes C - Hill/Miller Brooks/Budinger traded for that solid defensive center, hypothetically. No clue who that might be, but that's the direction I'd go if such a player is available. We're overloaded on the perimeter, and we need to cash in those assets for quality size. And hope that Williams grows into a playmaker who can finish games.
