Earlier in the season, any thread on Morey would result n multiple posts with pics of Morey smirking. I see that is not the case any longer. Looks like the schwag is wearing off.
dude his job is really tough! relax...nothing is forever, things will get better sooner or later, for now lets just sit back and see what happens.
Maybe if "Hium" had gotten some playing time.... Seriously, this team should be better than it is. Injury has taken a toll on them. You have to give it to AB though. He did try to come back and help and was even playing hurt. No excuses. We are what we are. Admittedly, i felt this team would be one of the top teams now. I also expected some type of big trade to have gone down long before now. I'm still holding on to that until they are completely out of the playoffs. See, i believe, if they were to make it to the playoffs, they might just be good enough to make some noise. Considering what they would have had to accomplish to make it there.
I think he gets up around 7am like most of us for work. So he will wake up in around 5 hours from now. Current Time 2am CST
Morey's & the Houston Rockets' bad luck started on one eventful day on that eventful banned thread titled "inside morey's head". i rest my case
I really want to see what Daryl can do once we have Yao off the books holding us back... Time to shine Morey and live up to your hype
This team has all the pieced - besides the most important one: a superstar. Unforunately stars don`t seem to want to be a Rocket anymore. No Bosh, Amare and apparently no Melo wants to sign here. So what to do now? Right now, this team is going nowhere - perhaps a playoff spot as an 8th seed, but that doesn`t really help. Either we`d have to build painfully slow with our young guys and hope, that one of them develops into a superstar - or tank and hope we can draft a future superstar - or continue to work the phones try to somehow get a superstar, or at least one or two all-star calibre players (Igudala for example). I guess we`ll go with the 3d option, but fail to get a superstar. I can`t see us competing for a championship in the forseeable future.
For the people wanting the team back into the finals run it will take at least a trade to bring in two quality players. One has to be a center and the other a wing or very good version of Nash. We are tanking right now in effect because we just cannot win against a half way good team. Just hope we can keep the players spirits up, loosing can be disastrous for a team and have a long term effect. Rockets lack of defense is painful to watch.
LOL. I think you are trying to be funny. But in case not, mentioning Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton, Ray Allen, and Rashard Lewis led teams to discuss how the Thunder is a well-run team is a little silly. Let's mention what a good GM Steve Patterson is for the Rockets while we are at it. Even taking your argument at face value, you could say that since 1993-1994, the Rockets have won two championships, been to the conference finals once, and been the second round twice, which is better than the Thunder (...err Sonics) in that time frame.
Im quite sure DM is awake. What its seems some people want him to do is get better now, regardless of the future consequences. All these trade for "whoever" threads have improving the team in mind, but at what cost? We are very fortunate to not be saddled with long bad contracts. We have flexibility now and in the foreseeable future. What can we ask of a GM other than give us a chance? Their are only a handful of players that would make us, or any team, instantly WAY better. And even the poorly managed teams (GM's) know who these players are. Fortunately, a good many of them dont have the assets (good players with good contracts) to compete for them. The Rockets do.
Kobe Shaq didn't win a ring until their 4th season together, but they were getting better each season. The Thunder have gone from chump to playoffs, last year and the playoffs gain this year. They have gotten better each year with Durant, going from 20 wins to 50 wins in his 2nd season. I would give him at least as much time as Kobe and Jordan had to win rings, before calling it a failure. How about this 26 other teams have gotten to the 2nd round twice, while the Rockets have done nothing for 15 years? It's getting old bringing up the 1994 Rockets and making up excuses for the 2011 Rockets. They are not even close to being a contender. Rockets are treading water with mediocrity. Yippee! Another lottery season and another 13th/14th pick!
Thank you! I'm glad someone sees this. I hate watching the Rockets lose but there really is nothing out there that will make us jump to contender status immediately. There is no way you take on nasty contracts and mortgage your future just to get a couple more wins. Unfortunately, we just have to live with the results for now. Teams don't want to trade away their stars and the draft doesn't always produce a super star even with the top couple of picks.
How can he wake up if he never sleeps? It's not as easy as starting a thread. Daryl is all over the place trying to find the talent to make us a contender. Unfortunately we have to play the waiting game till the right opportunity comes up.
