Why rockets don't have inside defense?
Who's fault? Coach, or players....It is a professional team... Unbelievable...

Can we have a thread for improving defense?

Maybe if you are getting no defense and no offense for more than 8 minutes you maybe try to change the lineup. You don't wait until you are 18 points down to make a change.

This coach always do the same. He love the veterans even when they getting kill out there, he won't make a substitution.

All Adelman cares about is players that fit his offense, defense isn't a priority which is why he needs to go imo.

Exactly. And he is way to loyal to the veterans. We got defenders in this team he just refuse to give them a change until the game is just out of hand.

I think it's time Morey made an opportunistic move for a head coach

our wing are good at forcing baseline drives, we just need a shot blocker to meet them at the rim.

We're so much worse defensively than last year because we don't have Yao. *sarcasm*

Rockets should once again stop relying on PFs to play Center and get a actual inside presence.

Maybe then they can at least mimic a NBA level defense.

People can blame Adelman all they want, but Morey hasn't given him the talent to work with. After all of the team's problems last year, we still don't have a decent backup defensive center. Instead, we have a collection of assets and offensive players. You can make all the opportunistic moves in the world, all the great trades and smart draft picks, but if you can't find a way to put it together to get what the team needs, you have failed. So far, this is the case. Ultimately, the GM needs to be judged on wins and losses. Adulation for Morey is premature.

He should have traded Yao Ming, 3 years ago. Rockets interior D will never be good as long as they depend on a C that gets injured in 24 min game limit. Chuck Hayes and Yao Ming are not the answer.

We need Dalembert or Gortat and give up on Jordan Hill and Jeffries. This is going to be a real long season watching teams drive, dunk, and rebound all over us.

lack of length in the paint + an offensive minded coach who barely knows how to spell " DEFENSE" = the worse D team in the league..

it is bascially a layup drill for other teams every single night..beyond painful..

Morey has built this team to suit Adelmans system... martin, scola, miller, budinger, brooks are all players Im sure Adelman coveted, so theirs no excuse in my opinion.

Im sure he's the main reason we signed Miller as our backup center instead of a traditional center like damp or haywood in the first place.
