At least it's not a leprechaun in a tree.

This story sounds strange and borderline BS. The 'mummy' simply has his head wrapped(with eyes uncovered), not his body. He was hanging around one guy's house and only he saw him...no one else saw or has seen 'the mummy'.

I love the part where the guy thought the mummy was outside his door and he was going to open it up really fast and tackle the guy...yeah, right.
So the homeowner was blindly going to tackle some guy hanging around his house at night without knowing anything about the weirdo? Can you say dorky, out of shape, middle-aged man, trying to sound tough? LOL.

It would help if they actually had a bit of a description of the 'mummy', height, weight, approximate age, ethnicity...etc. but they don't say anything...hell, it might be some kid from his daughter's school that's stalking her. If the mummy was that small, I could probably believe the tackling attempt.

There is nothing illegal walking around dressed as a mummy.

Maybe the guy had a wrestling background in his high school days or something, don't be so quick to judge if he could take him down or not

side note- If you have correct form, you can take anyone down, besides sumo wrestlers ;) of course

My sister lives in the neighborhood and has said that a few other people have seen the "mummy" also.

It is so hard not to laugh at this....

Is there a crime against wearing a mummie outfit outdoors?

If you're assuming things like that, you have to assume that the mummy 'might' have the same attributes, don't you? Bottomline, if someone is crazy/psycho/mentally-unbalanced enough to put themselves in that situation it's a bit too gung-ho to think your old wrestling background is going to come in handy when it comes to some stalker staking out your house. You don't risk your health and family's wellbeing because want to try and take down some weirdo who might be carrying a weapon. This isn't the movies or some MMA tryout...you call the police.

I think they are chasing the wrong monster (and this would explain how he disappeared so quickly)... [IMG]

This is sad. Some poor guy is probably trying to recover from a traumatic surgery to his face, and people in his neighborhood think he is a monster. He's probably embarrassed to go outside in the daytime, thinking people will point and laugh at him. He goes outside at night thinking no one will see him. Now his neighbors are chasing after him and calling news stations. Be careful, you might not want to get him upset.

    Leave Darkman alone!

I understand your point of view, and honestly, If it were to happen to me, I would have gotten my gun and also call the police, but in that man situation, it must of been his reaction to the mummy and he might have not thought it through.
