2 hours with Dream > x amount of years with Magic's coaching staff

I can see why SVG is mad :p

Lets see. Howard works out with Dream and suddenly starts doing things like shooting jumpers that he didn't do before. Some say that is coincidence I say that is the Dream!

The media may give plenty of credit to Hakeem but don't discredit what he learned. Last year or the year before, DHoward never demonstrated any post up moves like he does now. He was all dunk. Gotta give credit where credit is due.

So what exactly is the reason for sudden change in Howard's game?

When it come to post play, Dream is that guy sitting cross-legged on a mountaintop that people spend every ounce of energy just to climb up to him and hear him utter a few words of wisdom.

SVG is whining again. What a surprise. I'm not sure where he got that they only worked "3 hours" together. The beginning of the video said they worked over "5 days", and I bet they worked longer than 30-40 minutes at a time so it wasn't like they worked for 3 hours total over the 5 day period.

Regardless, Dream taught him moves over that short time that I'm sure Dwight practiced religiously. That's how he improved. Additionally, Dream taught him about the mental aspect of the game. He told him he already has a lot of the skills and athleticism but he's just got to refine them and start making a conscious effort to use them. So yes, It's obvious he did improve a lot by working with hakeem and then practicing what he learned over and over.

His jumpers last night we're probably Hakeem influenced, but there's no doubt that silky smooth inside pivot, spin move he did was directly from hakeem's repertoire. I can't find a clip of it anywhere but it was part of his highlights on SC last night.

SVG is obviously not a teacher. If he was, he'd understand that a good teacher's influence on students extends far beyond the time he spent with them. Howard's quotes show that the inspiration of the mental aspects during his time with Dream have stuck with him. That's what made the difference.

No, Stan, it's not overblown. (It may be over exposed.) You are insulting all the inspiring teachers in the world.

This is so stupid of SVG. Yes, Hakeem's impact on Dwight's jumper exaggerated but when the media brings it up he can simply say "I think it is exaggerated" instead of going on a rant about the entire workout the two guys had. Not to mention, how the hell can he honestly downplay the effect spending time with a 2X Champion and a top 5 all time NBA Center has on a young superstar? He has no clue what it takes to win a ring as a player (or a coach) so how can he sit there and act like Dream didn't do anything for Dwight?

The guy sounds jealous to me.

Honestly, I don't think he meant it to slight Hakeem or even to defend himself/Ewing. He probably feels that that Dwight isn't getting enough credit for putting in the time during the offseason to improve his game.

There hasn't been a sudden change in Howard's game. Free throws are still not good, rebounds are down. Points are just a little bit higher. His points have gone up a little every year

What is the reason that most players get better? Repetition, maturity

Did Kevin Love work with Hakeem?

It'd definitely not a 2 hour session with Hakeem. It makes for a good story though

All past years- no consistent offensive skills, just dunks.
    This year- offensive skills.

    Coincidence?

The question about only 5 hours and Dwight put in the hardwork- obviously. That's what every student has to do to take advantage of a teacher. So what.
