WojYahooNBA: RT @SpearsNBAYahoo: Rockets center Yao Ming had ankle surgery in Houston today, sources tell Y! Sports. Timetable for return still unknown. Lock if posted
I would have used the same guy big Z used. We will never know if Yao never had surgery in the first place if he would be better off now.. Its true the doctors could just suck

Yao undergoing surgery is the kind of thing the team usually announces beforehand... surprising they haven't said anything.
Pack it up big guy. I'd rather you were able to walk and live normally for the remainder, than try and come back for the Rockets with slim chances. Move on Rockets, move on.

Yeah it really took me by surprise, I thought for sure we would have heard about it through different channels. I have nothing but mad respect for Yao, he gets knocked down but continually gets up. I'm holding out hope that Yao can give the Rockets a solid 2-3 years at a substantial discount. Not expecting it at this point. Thanks for the fix on the header clutch.
True... but I was surprised by the fact that the surgery was today. Usually they announce he will undergo it beforehand... it seems it was "leaked" well after I would have thought it would be out there. But I don't have the details so I don't know.
On 610 this morning, Morey said something would come out very soon concerning Yao's future when prompted by Lopez. Didn't know it was THIS soon, though.
Hope Morey has some more definitive news on whether the league has actually granted them the Disabled Player Exception and exactly how long they have to use it. Based on the timing of the injury, I don't think there has been a definite ruling on this. Some strong opinions, but nothing definitive.
Deja vu? Get well soon Ming Yao! I do hope you call it quits man, live a long and healthy- rest of your life; you've got a family now. It was definitely a pleasure/privilege watching and rooting for you for all these years.
