The real b**ch that needs to be called out in all this is Oprah Winfrey. She's been championing this bull***** cause ever since Jenny McCarthy opened her big mouth, and ostracized ANYBODY who thought differently, without even so much as an iota of actual evidence. Everything that vapid waste of carbon said was CIRCUMSTANTIAL. Oprah would parade mother after mother onto her show, each one claiming that vaccines gave her precious little snowflake autism, and basically put anybody who had a counter-argument on blast. She even made it a point to have the person who was arguing AGAINST Jenny sit IN THE AUDIENCE. She wouldn't even let them sit on STAGE. And if this was the first time Oprah had done something like this, with little to no research on her topic-du-jour, it would be one thing. But this is literally the billionth time she has milked something like this for her own hidden little agendas (or maybe no-so-hidden). It obviously keeps her in the spotlight, and it allows her to wring her hands in shame at the "evil" doctors who are ruining the children of our country. All this, and her so-called "expert doctor" (Dr. Phil) isn't even a ****ing licensed doctor.....

    /ends Oprah rant

Eh, as is vaccines are overrated. Make your kids eat dirt from a young age, all will be well...

And at that end, so what if Jenny and Oprah are wrong? At least they are bringing greater awareness to something of this nature. The problem is, unless celebrities say it we don't really listen. Scientists? Who needs scientists?!?!?

Until your kid dies of whopping cough, right?

Vaccines are one of the biggest reasons for our increased life expectancy in the previous century.

My youngest son is autistic. He had autistic symptoms before he got vaccinated. I'd like to have a definitive reason to point at but I know vaccines are not it.

Also, if it's vaccines why is the ratio of autism between boys and girls so drastically different?

To be honest, I'm still a bit on the fence regarding certain vaccines. Am I saying they cause autism? No. But I am saying whatever vaccines contain the preservative Thimerosol are dangerous. Thimerosol has large amounts of mercury, which we all know is not good for anyone.

I have a one year old son, my first, his mother's sister has autism. So I was freaking out from the jump, researching what may cause autism. Of course there is said to be no answer, but the autism rate jumps
from (if memory serves me right) about 10 to 17% annually, some scientists believe autism has increased 1500% since 1991. Why is this? Who knows? Someone must, the increase is just to great not to have some sort of idea.

On Thimerosol, several countries have banned it, the US is not one of them. Several studies on Thimerosol Linked neurodevelopmental disorders. Strange that the CDC fights these findings when they clearly say Mercury can do the same, which is what Thimerosol is, but is organic.

These people made a lot of parents feel unnecessarily guilty then and if their kids happened to get a preventable disease, they should feel guilty now.

Chlorine is toxic. Table salt has chlorine in it (in fact it is 50% chlorine!). Do you eat salt at all?

Autism has never been clearly defined and a lot of people talk about it as a range so it shouldn't come as a surprise then that Autism seems to have increased dramatically when so many people are classifying people into what is called the Autism Spectrum.

One of my cousins has been classified as having Aspergers, which is on the Autism Spectrum, he graduated from high school, played team sports, had friends and went to college but while in college he was diagnosed as having Aspergers. In previous times they might've just considered him shy and / or eccentric without giving a specific diagnosis.
