Will there be a parade or celebration for Yao's arrival?

    I am excited about the rumor, but dont know if its true?
    Is there anything being put on by a Chinese Community group, Asian Heratige organization, or even by the Rockets?

    Maybe some of us here on the BBS can go camp out at the airport. HAHA ...just kidding

    Although, I remember the Rockets flying back from Phoenix. Big group there to welcome them. Nowadays, you arent allowed in the terminal without a ticket.

    I think the best way to support Yao Ming is to buy the tickets and cheer for him at the stadium. He said that he is a private person. I don't think the welcome at the airport is a good idea. (Do I like a ticket salesperson?:D )

    I don't care how good Yao is, no individual player deserves their own parade. Especially when they are still a rookie. Maybe a crowd at the airport, but a parade? Jesus tap dancing Christ, he's a basketball player, not a Roman general returning from conquering another country. Who ever started this rumor is a dumb ass.

    no, but isnt yao some kind of prophet or god?

    anyway, i think the parade idea is to show yao that americans are rude and arrogant people that want to idolize a person. i think hell understand....

    Speak for yourself Yetti, Im a christian and I wasnt offended.

    Good point W&S, by all accounts, he might be embarrassed to have a big to-do over him when he arrives. A warm welcome at the games when he comes in would be more appropriate.

    It's something I picked up from South Park. They created the phrase, I'd never heard it before, so I believe your beef is with them.

    i know one of em is jewish, but neither are religious

    btw, i didnt know u watched south park at your age (20) not that theres a problem with that...

    There is no time to have a parade. Yao will need to probably find a place to live, etc. as well as dealing with being late for TC for 3 weeks.
