I don't see us doing worse than last year but, I don't see us making a big leap either. We are rebuilding and it is going to take a couple of years to get all the pieces in place and getting experience working with each other. ------------------
I'm confident that Cat will re-sign with us. ------------------ Rockets Draft Obligations Summary http://www.gaffordstudios.cjb.net/
All I know is I either want the playoffs or that 300 lb. high schooler. If we have to sit through another horrible season of losing, then I want the Rox to at least get an impact draft pick for it! I like Collier, but you get what I mean. ------------------
I'm confident we'll end up with at least one of Croshere and Lewis. Call me stupid now if you want, but I've heard and read a lot lately to lead me to believe that. I think we'll get one. And I think Mobley might resign too- I don't think his mind is made up yet or that he is that selfish. I'm also confident that we will be in the playoffs. I love this team, with or without Cat and you know my stance on the two FA's. No matter how bleak some of you make it look, I believe in this team. ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com [This message has been edited by The Cat (edited July 21, 2000).]
I feel somewhat confident, because I don't think we will loose Cuttino to Toronto for the following reasons: 1) Canada's taxes are considerably higher than the U.S. (higher salary but the approximately the same take home pay); 2) while he is well respected, the new coach in Toronto didn't manage the disruption in Atlanta last year (and Toronto has had more than its fair share of Grousing in the locker room recently); 3) Toronto's offense will be "All Vince Carter All The Time" especially in the final year of his contract (ie less offensive freedom for Cuttino); 4) Vince will very likely bolt for bigger endorsement money in a better city next year (Toronto will suck big-time after Vince leaves and all their veterans retire--can you say MAJOR REBUILDING PROJECT); 6) bigger money can be had in the longer run by staying with one team long enough for bird rights; 7) Steve and Cuttino are buddies and the Rockets chemistry and direction is positive; and 8) Rudy is desigining an offense in which Cuttino can thrive. Money isn't the only factor involved here, and I think Cuttino is smart enough to see the forest for the trees. ------------------
I know what the rockets have up their sleeves--Baby SHaq(pick 1) and Terrence Morris(pick 10) ------------------ "There are two rules for success... 1) Never tell everything you know."
JUST WONDERING if anyone was feeling confident about next season? What with Cat looking like he's off to Toronto and the Rockets seemingly unlikely to nab either Croshere or Lewis, and with not getting any kind of starter in the draft. I'm preying that we've got something up our sleeves, or else next season will be even worse than this one. ------------------
What has happened to trusting Rudy T.......He got us Franchise for us last season didn't he? With his skill level he could reel in anyone with his fishing line with-out any bait! ------------------ I'm tha hip hop attracta, rapper slash acta, right back at cha!
Miggidy- nice post. I couldn't agree more. TRUST RUDY. He has earned it in the past, and I have a feeling he will earn it even more this summer. Give him a chance. ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com
Rudy also gave up a good portion of the team to get Steve. This year I don't see that happening as we have nothing else to give with value. ------------------ "We need to fockass".....Dream back in the day

Everyone seems to say Eddie Curry will be available in next years draft. Did he say anything to indicate that he would skip college? I'm just curious as to whether he will actually be in the draft. ------------------ Hakeem, Hasaw, Haconquered.
I've read a few articles on Curry that state his biggest dream is to go straight to the NBA from high school. This was last year that I read this, so who knows if his thinking has changed. ------------------ Just shut up and post
BELIEVE IN RUDY. He is the best coach in the NBA, and has made the unthinkable into good players before. Don't lose faith! ------------------ Jazzkiller
