Dude, what took you so long to realise this? Last month in December where we couldnt finish off crap teams was telling me we are not much better than how we started. And most of the things you have said are visible every night. It is pathetic. Oh well what can you do? You gotta root for your team.
I like your optimism. But dude like heaps of others have mentioned there are clearly other teams that have way way better ones as well. And all these prospects you mentioned are usless untill they can make solid contributions or get us something better in return.
If only competing means being mediocre. Attract a superstar or trade for a superstar? Good luck with that.
Good luck getting a first pick in the draft (actually it have to be lucky because is a pin pon ball draft) and good luck that the draft got a Lebron type of player who is not injury prone.
Don, can I ask you a serious question?: Why do you bother posting on this BBS? I'm not trying to tell you not to post. You're entitled to your opinion and to share that opinion with others. But you are like the biggest hater on just about EVERYTHING. It's like you really ARE a "fake fan". If I held your opinions across the board, I would find much better things to do with my time than waste it here.
Yao being an all-star shows everything that is wrong with this league. It is all about money and cheating now.
Was that comment directed at me? I certainly hope not. If it wasn't, I apologize for what I'm about to write. If it is, . . . "Love of mediocrity???" Where do you get off accusing me of that?! I bleed Rockets red. I want little more in life (besides the health and happiness of my wife and young son) than to see the Rockets win. Games like tonight's tear at my very soul. So don't accuse me of loving mediocrity. Also, hating for the sake of hating is just a waste of everyone's time. It's a waste for those who have to look at that tripe. But it's an even bigger waste to the person typing it. Those who want to tank to get the next superstar, despite the fact that the odds of successfully pulling that crap off are very, very, very low, and despite the fact that for even the small chance at getting such a player it will involve a LOT of losing for a LONG time, can just go ahead and continue wanting it. But Les Alexander isn't going to allow that to happen. It's just a fact. Aside from this reality, I happen to think Les is making the right decision. Just because the Rockets haven't managed to pull off trades for Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and Andre Iguodala so far this season doesn't invalidate the merits of the asset accumulation approach. Daryl Morey and the rest of the Rockets' front office are working their collective asses off trying to give stupid "tank-happy" morons a winning product without having to make their fans suffer through horrible losing season after horrible losing season. I'm a Rockets fan. I want to win. I don't want to be mediocre. And I certainly don't want to suck. So just GTFO with your "love of mediocrity" bullcrap. I've got no (more) time for you, fool.
