http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2002-10-12/0638333152.shtml This article discloses some interesting info about Yao Ming's NBA trip that I didn't know. 1. Yao Ming only needs to send less than 10% of his salary to Chinese Basketball Asso., not 50% previously said, 2. His mother came to Houston Oct 2 to prepare for Yao's coming. (She is at Houston now!) It is encouraging news. Ming is coming.
It said Ming has to pay 43% of his income for tax to American goverment, 10% of income for insurance and 10% to CBA. So his final income (4 years) is around $7 million. And then he has to pay some money to Shanghai Sharks (it is reportedly $10 million, he can pay it yearly).
I think NK lost some game, therefore stopping the matchup. I forgot which one though. I don't THINk they can meet again, but I'm not sure. Maybe W&S can clarify.
readind some news from china, said Yao Ming's mother has arrivec in the US on Oct 2 to make some preparations for Yao. Plus, Yao dones't need to pay 50% of his income to CBA anymore. something like less than 10%.
hehe US charges more Tax.. by the way, are they gona check Yao's shoes while he is in airport? they are huge, might can fit tons of bombs
Tim very wisely removed his official Rockets signature from his cc.net profile... happened around the time he got some "fan email" from members here about the car parking situation The media guide has him as equal 3rd or 4th in the organisational structure of the Rox (i have no idea where RT/head coach & CD/GM fit in the structure of the/a bball organisation). A nice poster to have You need a job, with all these weird restrictions & criteria, to be offered a working visa (or so i was lead to believe). So he couldn't even apply before he got the contract signed/sorted.
Wrong Tim. The Tim, you're thinking about uses just Tim as his moniker. Timvp is in hawaii, and from my knowledge doesn't have any connection to the organization except being a fan.
I hope Yao hurry up and get here; especially before the regular season tip off Oct. 30th I believe. But I still am skeptical for when he will get here. When he comes then I will rejoice.
