Dont blame Sega, there is NOT one NBA game out there with Yao in it. BTW, 2K3 is WAYYYYY better than Live will ever be.

I remember when 2K came out on the Dreamcast. My friend had the Dreamcast, and I had the PS2 with NBA Live 2002. His 2K was better on Dreamcast than Live was on PS2, and the PS2 was the brand new system!

I a definitely getting 2K3 this year. Live stinks.

I actually prefer Live this year over 2K3. I returned my 2K3 for a refund. I just couldn't get into it. Maybe it was the ESPNization...but something was just off.

Live is pretty darned good this year.

Damn, those ratings are kinda low!

    Passing - 55?
    Ball-handling - 57?
    Shooting - 65?
    Speed - 55?

Might have to do a little tweaking! ;)

Hey Live, I'm assuming you bought Live over 2K3, right? ;)

Is 2K3 judging on a scale of one to a hundred?

    Those stats are absurd!

Has anyone seen how the created player looks, though?

No, I bought 2K3 and my brother is buying Live. We're going to share the games. I just want to say once again that brothers are cool. :D

BTW, I chose 'Live' as a username for a variety of reasons, one being that my girlfriend\fiance likes the band of the same name, wasn't even thinking of the video game.

Actually 2K3 does use 1-100 this year. Last year the lowest was 50.

I just bought 2K3 for PS2 and created Ming. and they do have a certain face that looks like him. Its a chinese face with big hairy eyebrows like Ming, and since you can make the head really big, you can make a player that looks a lot like him. I just dont like the fact that you miss about 60% of your shots in All-star mode even if you use a good player and are directly in front of the basket. Whats the deal with that?

    Icehouse,

I saw some mistakes in your ratings.

    1)Shooting (Close)

65? Dude, look at what the other centers are rated:
    T. MacCulloch - 84
    Z. Ilgauskas - 84
    S. Swift - 84
    L. Wright - 89
    T. Ratliff - 84
    E. Campbell - 89
    K. Clark - 84
    B. Miller - 87

You cant possibly tell me that some of these guys have that much better of a short ranged jump shot than Yao Ming. I would change this to an 84.

    2)Shooting (medium)

65? Look at answer above. I would change this to a 72.

    3)Stamina

If there is one thing that Yao Ming does not have, it is his current conditioning. In the World games, he was huffing and puffing in the 2nd quarter. By the 4th quarter, he would WALK to the other side of the court. His stamina, at this point, reminds me a lot of G. Ostertag (rated 72).

ok i finally got a chance to rent this game tonight and what a joke. steve francis at 86? f!ck that, especially considering who they have with higher ratings. i mean the game is still good but that rubs me wrong even though i adjusted it.

I bought NBA Live 2003 yesterday for the X Box. I can tell you right now, it is just as good or better than NBA 2k2. I havn't played 2k3 yet, but I think it is safe to say that the Live series is back.

The live series isnt as much a simulations as nba2k3, and thats the best part of the game is the reality of it.

There's supposed to be some sort of bug that makes the game more "realistic" when you mess with the settings. What I've heard is that your supposed to put it into arcade mode, put all the settings back to where they were on simulation, and then turn on fatigue.

I've tried it and it makes the game MUCH more realistic, and less "fast paced."

    Okay! I got Ming created.
But now how do I get him on the Team!?
    I have no idea!

I usually just like to play head to head with an opponent.

Can I use Ming like this?
Or can I only import him in Franchise mode or something of the like?

Go to the Roster Management screen. Yao Ming will be on the free agent list. Go to the rockets and sign him. Then, make sure you save the settings.

Now is the time to call the CBA and start the negotiation process.

Just want to add that you need to activate Yao Ming into the roster. I signed him, but forgot to do that. I played a game and he wasn't there. Almost thought I did something wrong, but I found out he was not activated.

I think the ratings across the board are lower so there aren't 5 players with 99 rating, basically. I wouldn't worry about it, though. I simmed a 28 game season and Steve jumped up to a 92 the next season.

I'll admit that EA did a great job at improvements. Its almost a completely different game. Rebounding is easier and its all pretty fluid. Freestyle is pretty cool. However, I'm leaning towards NBA2k3 because of the realism. But I didn't try that "bug." Maybe I'll do that later.
