I love how the media blows this kind of stuff out of proportion, 1. How were 5 officers there to witness what he was doing? 2. He did not go off duty to go there, he was stationed there after a disturbance. 3. The police chief can't say anything, he was new and had no idea what was going on, especially because the past two chiefs had been suspended for theft. He takes one picture on a personal phone, outside of the club and he is being burned at the stake? Screw that.
Based solely on what's on the report: It didn't say the officers were with him, only that they reported him. He abandoned his duty to go there. Yes, he can. He's the CHIEF, no matter if he's 2 days or 2 decades on the job. Yes. He wasn't doing his job at the time and his job doesn't include taking photos of p*rn stars. This must be the cop that the other cops didn't like. Maybe they didn't think he should have won that award. Rest assured, if this was one of the cops who was buddies with all the other cops, there's no way they would have reported him.
