Texans will now pick 11th or 12th.

Well why did the 49ers and Cowboys try to win today? Shouldn't they have been further in "tank" mode, since they were in the drivers seat to tank?

I understand draft pick positioning, but I would have lost all respect for the Texans if they had tanked against a division rival trying to win a division title and make the playoffs.

The players would never let that happen.

    Tanking is for the NBA.

No NFL team tanks... they may not always play their best players, but they don't tank.

I was rooting for the loss. What the hell was the point to win today?

Well since you bleed Rockets and Texans you should want to win no matter what. You know blood is thicker than water.

Im also coming up with 13-14 depending on Seattle, looking at the image on post 64. Such a waste

You sit anybody with a sore anything, you play the kids. If on the road you do it, no one holds it against you....at home, it's hard to get away with and Kubiak knew he needed a win to affirm Bob's cheap move idiocy.

6 teams with a worse record than us now,

In a 7, potentially 8, way tie with 6 losses.

We hold the tiebreaker over Detroit...but that's about it.

Might have been a good game to check on our BackUp QBs.
I think Leinart goes else where.
If Schaub is hurt next year . . . and they go 6-10
To me. . . IT WON'T BE AN EXCUSE!!
[Yet it will be the reason for Kubiak to get ANOTHER YEAR]

Of course, the boys would win. We would have picked at 6 :(

I'm not advocating this, just throwing it out there for discussion, but is there any scenario where we would trade up? I know in the past, we never would want to do that because we had so many problems. However, if we maybe make some FA signings, get some players back from injury, I don't think we have a ton of problems. And if we really like one guy on D in the top 5 or something...do we trade up?

My only solace on this is to remember the way Brian Kelly played in Tampa when he first got there in the late 90s.

Turned into a pro-bowl system corner and a very solid starter opposite Ronde Barber.

I'm not hoping for pro-bowl but would love solid starter.

After 9 years of bull****, the blood is starting to thin for these snakebit, mediocre, pretender Texans.

Another meaningless win for the Texans to close out the year, after they totally collapse during the meat of the schedule when it actually means something. It's the same damn thing every year. I'm so over this team.

No that is not what the Texans do. It is more likely they move back than move up.

I never did get this. In the NFL, your pick is definitely dependent on your record. The worse the record, the better the pick. This should be a no brainer to tank in my opinion. If you want to coach your best game, then pull your starters, and play the youngsters. You never know, you might find a real player.

If teams pull starters to prevent injury heading into the playoffs, why not pull players to prevent injury AND increase your chances of getting a higher draft pick?

I would guess that KJ is a better tampa 2 fit than whatever crap is run here.

Based on our picks it looked like we try to go for a tampa 2, except the safeties cant cover a lick. DBs who can hit better than cover. Undersized D linemen paired with oversized LBs, I don't get what backwards defense they're trying to implement.

Yes, better zone corner than man. But like you said, there seems to be no coherence to what they are doing with the defense.
