Not with the Rockets he wasn't. The purpose of sending him to the Vipers would not be to see if he can play. It would be to immerse him in an environment where he could get lots of live game experience working within the same system the Rockets use in Houston. This is currently a tough situation for T-Will in that the Rockets not only have a full roster, with him at the end of the bench; but Williams was also acquired part way through the season, so he has not had a proper opportunity to go through an offseason and training camp, which would allow him to fully and properly learn the Rockets system. A month or so playing starters minutes with the Vipers, who run the same system on their team as the Rockets, could really help him to overcome that handicap quickly. And the ideal best way to instigate this would be for Terrance Williams to personally request a short assignment to the Valley so that there would be no question about whether this was some sort of personal slight by the Rockets. In fact, if properly handled, this could be orchestrated into a public relations coup for both him and the Rockets, which would make this a solid career move for Williams on several different levels.
I couldn't agree more. The Rockets don't give a crap whether T-Will puts up a bunch of triple-doubles in the D-League while hogging the ball. They'd rather see him learn and excel within the Rockets' system. I mean, look at Courtney Lee. He is undoubtedly a good player and has had a full training camp to learn the Adelman offense, and even HE is still adjusting to the new offense. T-Will will need to be patient.
They're good arm chair coaches. The fact is anyone that has been on a team knows that "The Coach" calls the shots and "The Coach" does what he thinks is best for the team. Apparently William's is behind, not ready and will have to wait for the good of the team. When R.A. says he's ready, then he'll be ready. When he gets he chance, he better be ready.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine i really would love to see this trade happen but first we would need some luck of the hornets to be out the playoffs and realize they need to rebuild and paul wont stay time to dump contracts and get draft picks. we probably would have to give our 1st and the one we got from knicks if not more but what do yall think about this trade?
haha it did not save my trade but go into trade machine and put yao, jefferies, brooks for chris paul, and emake okafor.
Hes riding the bench because this is what the rockets do, They try to make sure there 12th and 13th men on the roster are quality players Its odd terrence williams hasnt played any significant time waste of a first rounder
Not a waste of a first rounder since it meant that the NY Knicks couldn't make a better package for Melo than NJ could, giving more security to our Knicks first rounder for next year. Melo being traded to NY mid-season means 27th pick in the draft lol. Plus wasn't it a 2012 first rounder, he assumes we will be a playoff team by then meaning we lost a 27th pick two years from now. Someone post the Morey picture....
