Has he gotten as good as he is going to get or is he like a big man in an all-star game. If he is going to get better Rudy needs to speak to his guards and tell them whats up. I like the excitement that they bring, but we are a team through and through...INSIDE and out. That being said i think we need to start Cato at the elbow in our motion and either pass it to him on the cut to the block or reverse the ball and let him weakside rebound. He make get a charge or two, but it will cause teams to atleast look at him. Heck, i saw the Nets do it with Friggin Evan Eschmeyer two years ago.
yeah, Cato's only problem is that we don't get him the ball I think we do need an inside offensive presence, which is why we drafted Yao Ming. Cato needs to earn his touches. He should primarily get the ball when he works hard to get the ball, pretty much where all he has to do is dunk it, or by putbacks after fighting for offensive boards. There is no way we should make Cato a centerpiece of our offense...at the top of the paint no less. I hate seeing cato touch the ball outside of a five foot radius of the basket. I also hope that you realize that your brilliant plan was used by the Nets (2000-2001) they had 26 wins and 56 LOSSES ......I really hope we follow suit
Well...yes they were but i was at times effective at getting a person the ball that wasn't the greatest offensive player. I never said Cato was a world beater but he has enough skill to atleast make the other team look at him. Lets be fair here.
I feel that we should see how Cato is playing in the pre-season before we say anything about his game. Let that guy prove himself while MIng isn't with us. I think he will play good this season knowing that Ming will b with us
But Kelvin only average 4.5 shots a game, and on average, usually 2 or 3 of those were dunks. So that stat is a little misleading.
What is misleading about it? The way you guys talk is like he that stiff in Milwaukee, EJ or Nevitt. That is okay, you can take Duncan/Robo/Rose and I will take Ming/Cato/EG. Good luck.
I agree, and if he gets more shots than that I guarantee he doesn't keep leading the team in FG%. I want Cato to just crash the boards and get easy put backs, that way he'll continue to lead the team in FG%. However, I bet Yao leads the team this year.
Based on what we know now, with Ming not having proved a think, Cato being lackluster and Griffin still maturing, I would take Duncan and two scrubs in a heartbeat. You know why? Hes an MVP, won a championship and hes been an All Star since hes been in the league. If going into this season, you can say with a straight face, that you would rather have Ming, Cato and EG on your team, that Robinson, Rose and Duncan then I applaude you cause you would be one of the few. That being said, after this coming season is over, and seeing how Ming and EG performed over the course of a full season in the starting lineup, I might take them. Going into this season, If im looking for a championship, then the decision is easy.
I thought u said two scrubs. Not a hoss and a future hall of famer whose got a little bit in the tank.
Read the previous thread friend. We were talking about Duncan/Rose/Robinson v. Ming/Cato/Griffin. I was saying Duncan and two scrubs to make a point. However, if I have to take Duncan and two scrubs, Id take Duncan, Shawn Bradley and Jason Collier over Ming, Cato and Griffin if I had to win a championship this season. Without a doubt.
