Fully agree. I am ok with a "technical" trade of his contract as he will not play this season, but if he plays again, it should be as a Rocket.

Yao is a very brave man, many lesser beings would have called it a day. I want him to retire as a Rocket. It's unfortunate, but also necessary to trade his contract.

I hope he will sign for cheap but I definitely don't think so, not with Yao Team represent Yao. They will negotiate for the best deal or look somewhere else. Stop thinking about Yao coming back cheap. It's about time to look past Yao. Anyway, best wishes to Yao.

    This is probably Morey's plan:

Try to get him back cheap

If not we should not sign him to a big contract.

No surgery though, right? Is Yao just going to let it heal?

I am not going to question Yao's character but the health of his body. I really hope he can come back and play but at this point I am not expecting it and even if he does I'm not sure he can ever play consistently at the level he once did.

Saying "I'll try my best" is sort of a stock answer. It doesn't really mean he's leaning towards coming back versus retiring. What's he supposed to say to Dream? "No, I'm going to retire!"

As of Rocket Fan, I would love to see him go out in our Red on his terms.

As a Fan of the NBA, I would love to see him go for a championship.

As a parent, I would love to see him comeback to a 10 day contract and Retire as a Rocket (assuming he gets traded) so he can spend a healthy life with his family.

As a person who loves to see happy endings, I would love to see him comeback(produce) and stay healthy for the next 5 years(assuming there is a God, who is going to look out for him).

    Good Luck Yao

    MightyMog,

Ok, I give up on Yao coming back this season. If you want to put the $20 in the tip jar, go ahead.

yup that is what I was thinking too. Yao also doesn't want to disappoint Dream if he tells him he hopes he can come back. Saying he will try his best doesn't really mean much here but I really hope he gives it one more shot but his body may not put up with it.

It's a tough situation whether nor not Yao returns.

I don't think there's a chance in hell that he can return to his original form after this many setbacks and time away from playing.
