Yeah, I know... small sample size for his NBA play, but the guy was good in college (under different coaches), in high school (11th ranked recruit in an impressive high school class. http://www.draftexpress.com/RSCI/2007/), in the D-League and in his first significant NBA action. The team was awfully happy to draft him, too.

So, what do you think is Patrick Patterson's ceiling?

Future 16-18 point a game guy, 8-10 boards and VERY few mental mistakes.

Not a superstar but a dam good player who is willing to do the dirty work.

For ceiling, I'll go with borderline all-star.

Solid backup PF. Possible starter. Good second tier PF. I think he can play many years in the league if he remains healthy. It will be interesting how he reacts to adversity.

Pretty much with a little bit more defense sprinkled in.

Solid starting PF on a winning team. Not an all-star talent, but definitely more talented than some people think here. Very good chance to reach his potential, not like the long tall dude.

I look at it like this.... All this minutes PP has played during the regular season have been steady. He hasn't seemed to get lost mentaly in the game. Also, he doesn't seem to be undersized (like some have said about him). I would like to see them go to him in the post a bit over the next few weeks.

Patterson looks more like a though PF. Never seen him play (like other Rockets fans), but his body looks fantastically sculpted. He has high basketball IQ also.

Jordan Hill is focusing on his fade away jumpers too much.
