I can't say I follow the Bulls that closely, but they have now jumped ahead of the Heat into 2nd place in defensive efficiency. They've got a 20-10 record, with Boozer and Noah missing significant time.

I'm glad to see Thibs showing he's got what it takes to be a good head coach. Early COTY candidate?

Didn't JVG recommend Thibs to replace him when he got fired?

I'll go back to what I said before the season: The Bulls have a chance to be VERY dangerous when the playoffs start. I didn't think Boozer would have a problem in their offense because he's accustomed to playing off a great PG. I thought it would take them longer to become a great defensive team.

They have the formula for playoff success: A great closer (Rose), another gifted offensive player to back him up (Boozer) and a great defense. When playoff games disintegrate into 4th quarter slugfests, the Bulls will be ready.

Agreed. How Thibs didn't get a head coaching gig after the Celtics won it all in 2008 is beyond me. Relative idiots got head coaching jobs left and right while Tom was stuck doing most of the heavy lifting for Doc Rivers (who I still think is a good coach but who definitely benefited from Thibs's defensive prowess).

It's great to see Thibs doing what I knew all along he could do.

i think jvg and tom maxes out their team throughout the year. both are workaholics. i think what u see now, is what u can expect in the playoffs. hopefully theyll have a strong, healthy roster once playoffs start. itd be a shame if rose becomes the 3rd guy in their big 3 to finally need injury time off.

i watch the bulls games after the rockets. theyve got a great team. noah is my current fave center. rose is dangerous. boozer is limited but effective at what he does. their wings r fast, deadly n they got some shooters off the bench.

he's a JVG disciple. it isn't a surprise that thibs is doing what he is doing. he made the celtics' D the way it is. and the bulls will continue to be a great defensive team.

Am very happy for him, he definitely paid his dues and deserve to be a well known coach in this league.

I look at the boxscores and I just cringe. Just like Larry Brown, Jvg, Tom is burning his guards up by playing them 40 plus mins a game. They will be burned out by playoff team.

I remember hearing Thibs on an interview after he was hired by the Bulls, saying he had a couple offers to become HC after the 08 season. TT went on to say he wanted to stay with Boston for another run. The impression I got was, the teams that made offers were not all that sexy, so it helped make the decision easier.

Glad to see him doing well, I think he has a chance to be a great HC.

Probably a smart move. Nothing kills a coaching career more than inheriting a trash team with a stable (and stably inept) management hierarchy in place.
