http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkzMA1jrm00 - Austin Powers blackjack scene is all you need to know. I like to live dangerously.

Seriously speaking, though, folks... how DIFFICULT can it be to play JackBlack?

Just Google "blackjack strategy" and it will give you all the correct plays based on what you have and what the dealer is showing.

If you want to get into counting systems Knock-out Blackjack is a good book as is Blackbelt in Blackjack.

Just pretend the card that the dealer isn't showing is a 10. Dealer's hit at everything 16 and below (and soft 17's in most casinos). If they are showing a 6 or below, you dont need to hit (unless you have 11 or below and its a free hit) because the dealer will hit, and could bust.

If they have 7 or above showing, you hit to try and beat their 17 (or whatever it is they have showing).

I've been working in Vegas this year, and have managed to get ahead using this strategy.

Play the game on this website. I was in your boat when I was preparing for my Vegas trip this past August, and I stumbled across this site. Very helpful as it tells you what you did wrong.

No, it absolutely does not. But I think you are kind of selling your strategy short when you say "assume the dealer has a 10." That is what I'm saying is 100% wrong.

If you leave out the "assume the dealer has a 10" its the same hit or stay strategy. I did not include when to double or split simply because new players dont need to get confused.

Why do you think you dont hit if they have a 6 or below showing, and you do if they have a 7 and above showing?

Scroll down to the section on that same page titled "bad strategies."

Yeah, I see that, but since the hit or stay strategy is the same, I don't get what the big deal is.

Doesn't he say he learned his basic strategy under these premises? I think the ace is the only thing where he said he reverts to "proper" strategies.

Just go "by the book" and memorize the chart. Lose 0.5% of your money over time and have fun.

Or count cards but that's frowned upon.
