I saw highlights of the King's game where they retired Gretzkey's number. The Kings wore the jersey's from the years the Great one played there. It got me thinking how great and classy those sweaters were and how god awful the new ones are. It's like they decided to bite off the Sacramenton King's colors and scheme.

Or ask a Canadian, and fortunately you have a number here to ask. (Actually there are a lot of American hockey fans here too.) About the uniforms, I’m split on that. Those old purple PJs the Kings used to wear were pretty horrendous. The best ones are the classic ones, the original 6, IMO.
As in any sport, the classic ones are always the best. Teams are now using uniforms as a key part of their marketing strategy. Change out the primary uniforms every few years, and a special uniform(s) every year, and you get a fresh surge of uniform sales. The Astros wore seven different uniform combinations this year, plus the retro day.
