Been reading about Joe Paterno and how the rumours are flying that the bowl game against Florida will be his last and then how he has ADAMANTLY denied that is true. The man is 84 years old; does he actually coach still? I think it is time for JoePa to go out to pasture - what does others think?

I thought he died years ago and was just being propped up on the sidelines as some kind of mascot.

Wouldn't the next phase in life for him be death?

JoePa is awesome! At his age most of us are going to be either senile or dead and definitely won't be coaching bowl games. So, I say let Joe die honorably on the field for doing what he loves the most and be buried in Beaver Stadium with a proper mausoleum for all that he has done for Penn State.

The last time they wanted him out he wound up getting Penn State to a nice bowl game. Penn State has nothing to gain by getting rid of the guy. He is doing them a favor by sticking around. Nobody even talks about PSU this year if he isn't around. Recruits would dry up. Just let him walk around the sidelines, nothing to lose.

he's a legend and should retire when he wants. nothing is sadder than seeing a legend being rudely ousted at the end of his career (like what happened to bobby bowden)
