This isn't aimed at everyone...most people here seem reasonable and intelligent. Anyone under 15 is also excused, as it's an age where 'blind' fanaticism prevails. For the rest of you, really, theres a point where you have to get a grip. Can we all just cut down on the amount of crap being posted here aimed at Cuttino. For two reasons: 1. A lot of you are going to look VERY stupid if he announces on August 1 that he is re-signing. At least wait until anything's official before labeling the bloke a 'traitor'. 2, Everyone here seems to want Rashard Lewis. If he leaves Seattle, who gave him a chance after WE neglected him in the draft big time...his ethics and loyalty would be even 'lower' than that of Cuttino. No question. Why do I get the feeling that if, on August 1, Cat goes to Toronto and Rashard comes here...there will be people here posting praise of Lewis whilst writing the usual garbage about Cuttino and not even for a second seeing the irony... ------------------
Are you saying cut-tino wears wrinkled shirts? ------------------ "Get up, stand up. Stand up for your right"-Bob Marley
Thats right SRJ,many here are being hypocrits about this.Way may feel dissapointed but we cant blame cat after we praised shandon so much last year. ------------------ -RG-
I know what you're saying, but Cuttino leaving a team with so much chemistry feels so much like a slap in the face. From what I've read(I am not claiming I know what is happening with Mobley's camp), Cat wants to go to Toronto for $ and fame. Rashard would get neither coming to media-shunned, over-capped Houston. One guy $ells out and the other is a kid that wants to come home... Yeah, that's hypocritical of some of us... ------------------ WE WILL WATCH THEM FALL... Next year [This message has been edited by AntiSonic (edited July 21, 2000).]
I always call Mobley these negative things along with the statement IF HE LEAVES. I still think he will stay, because IMO he isn't that selfish. Cuttino's ordeal is no comparison to Lewis'. I could go on for hours things that the Rockets have done for Cuttino that Seatte hasn't even come close to doing for Rashard. And I also don't recall Rashard's agent telling the Sonics not to draft an SF as a premise to start negotiations. ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com
1. If( that is a big if ) Cat leaves then he will be a traitor. He specifically said do not draft anyboby who plays my position or I will not feel wanted. We did just as he asked and now he might leave anyway. If he stays, fine. That proves he has the integrity and honesty we respect. 2. We may have "neglected" Lewis in the draft but so did 28 other teams. Remember, he was picked in the 2nd round. He wants to come home regardless of the money. Or so his brother says. ------------------ Houston Rockets Forever!! In Rudy We Trust
We didn't just neglect Lewis...we completely burned him. Seattle gave him his BIG break. This guy missed the entire first round. He may never have made it without them. Now...looks like he is certain to stay there anyway. I think all that talk about him coming here is just that, talk. Nothing else. Just while we are on all this...how STUPID is the draft rules on second round picks?????Why on earth should a team that takes a risk and unearths a second round guy who becomes a star...be so limited in it's ability to retain him? Why after just two seasons? First rounders are five seasons now. Seems crazy... ------------------
SRJ, Clutch himself said that the Rockets are working on trying to bring Rashard Lewis back home. He himself said he thought that we would get Lewis or Croshere. Sounds like more than talk to me... or do you know more than Clutch now? ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com
and how the hell are the Rockets supposed to get Lewis huh? Cuz Clutch magically said so? Right now it is only talk and conjecture. ------------------ I am so exasperated that I could expectorate.
There are ways to get Lewis here. For instance, if what I heard from his brother and the Seattle Times is correct, he's interested in just a one year deal. And if that is the case, Seattle can only sign him with their 2.6M exception, not the early Bird contract of 2 years, 4M per, since they are capped out. And you have to believe Seattle knows what Lewis is up to, and that he would want to be a Rocket next summer when he is unrestricted. So, it seems to me as if Seattle might prefer to use that 2.6M exception this summer on a player who can help the franchise LONG TERM, and it doesn't appear that Lewis feels that way. I'm not in any way saying we'll get Lewis. I was just saying that SRJ basically closed the door on the concept, and based on many recent things I've heard, including by Clutch who knows what he's talking about, that door is still open. ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com
But the crack of the door is so small right now that it is not even worth seriously talking about. ------------------ I am so exasperated that I could expectorate.
Actually, I've had a lot of indications lately to tell me that the door is open a lot more than a crack, and is worth discussing. But we'll just see in a couple of weeks I guess. ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com
fair enough, but I still think Screaming has a point here. And nitpicking small aspects of his arguments does not IMO, change it. ------------------ I am so exasperated that I could expectorate.
LOL Rocket River That is true, I know. I am about to go to the Footy for the day here in Sydney...it's a BIG game for my club and one of our key players is a bloke I absolutley detest, but he's joined us now...so I will be cheering for him as loudly as anyone. Regarding Lewis...all the reports say that the Sonics owner has stepped in and given him the kind of treatement only Paton has had before. I doubt he'll walk away from that. I hope I am wrong. Cat Man...no way would I pretend to know more than Clutch, obviously. However, Clutch has to go on what he hears and we all know a lot of rumours are fabricated to put a player in a better position. Whether the Lewis rumours of wanting to 'come home' etc are true or not I don't know. What I do know is that his asking price has gone up a hell of a lot. Rumours...or fabrications? With the kind of money at stake...you have to wonder. Anyway, go the Rocks and go the Tigers at the Footy today. If you don't see me posting here fo a while it's because my footy team has lost and I have jumped off the first high building I have found ------------------
Ok . . . Let me explain this as simply as I can. IT"S CALLED BEING A HOMER!!!! IT'S CALLED BEING A FAN!!!!!! You screw us . . .You are Krap! If you Help Us . . . YOU ARE GREAT [until u screw us] *smile* Rocket River Don't look for logic in the illogical realm of Fandom. ------------------
