I like Lee a lot but if teams are calling and we can get a center out of it then pull the trigger. T-Will can play the backup 2 and we would just have to live with Budinger at the backup 3. The Bulls don't have a center, besides Noah, that would be worth it so they need a third team to get involved.
Overpaid has nothing to do with it. Les and Morey have already shown that they are willing to take on 'bad' contract to help the team. Deng would be an upgrade over Battier (and I am a huge Battier fan) and Korver give us as much offensively as Lee does.
I understand your point... but I disagree. The trade would be about Deng not Korver. But case in point - Battier can't create for himself and he gets ton of open looks. Imagine if it was Deng or Korver getting those looks. And we have one of the better post threats in the league with Scola!
Lol ya Morey. " lowry for rose" Bulls gm" no wat about lee" Morey" wat about rose" Bulls gm " k fine u win rose for ish" That is morey's magic in the workin
I think I'd rather keep Lee.. even if the Bobcats pick is an option. He's young, cheap, plays great defense and shoots lights out. You don't find many guys with that all-around package.
They are willing to take on a big contract if it improves the team... true. Deng and his contract do not improve this team enough to warrant paying even more for Deng. Im not saying I dont like Deng, but I am saying he isnt really worth what he is getting paid and wont improve the team enough in my opinion. I just dont think Deng is the type of player Morey and Les are referring to with their statements.
There was a previous thread on this rumor. I said in there that the only thing I'm interested from the Bulls is that first round pick they have from the Bobcats (with some protection on it I believe).
Taj Gibson is a solid player. He's a better shot blocker and defender than Hill. I would maybe consider that trade.
No. Hill has much more potential than Gibson. Gibson is a 4-year college player who is probably as good as he'll get. For the Rockets the future is far more important than the present.
Hill post offense is almost on the same level as Dorsey's. Aside from the dunks, he basically has that one hook shot and that's it. CD showed Joey that same move but he never really had a post game to begin with. If basic post moves is something he is still learning than I'm not gonna have high hopes for him. Patterson's post game is better than Hill's. And Hill's defense still has a lot left to be desired. Gibson, with is 7'4 wingspan, is already a better defender and has a much better mid-range game. He can face up, put the ball on the floor, and attack the basket. He can still improve his game, defense and offense, as Jordan Hill can but he is already a step ahead.
Don't be foolish we have the depth to get rid of Lee provided the compensation can pay significantly high dividends in the end. If the Bulls put the Bobcats 2012 1st rounder(lottery protected for that year only IIRC) on the table, we take it with an expiring contract perhaps some cash and absolutely run with it. It leaves us an option to rebuild with multiple picks(Knicks & Bobcats, plus our own) in a 2 year span(2012-2013) that can really revamp our team. If we don't rebuild, then in 2013 we have at the very least a top 10 draft pick. Courtney Lee is worth giving up on in such circumstances.
