Bags was better, but Biggio is the better face of the franchise due to his longer career and the 3,000 hits.

    Biggio 1998 was just ridiculous.

When Bagwell won ROY in 91, I was convinced he would be the best player to ever wear an Astros uniform. But what Craig did playing multiple positions...3,000 hits...50 runs/50 doubles in same season....I just have a difficult time saying Jeff had a better career.

Bagwell's 1994 season was going to be ridiculous had he not broken his hand/strike.

It's neck and neck but I'll go with Baggy by a hair. It is VERY VERY close.

Biggio may have had the better career, but only because he played an additional 700 games(I found it amazing that it was exactly 700).

That's part of it with Bagwell though, right?

I mean..we talk about what would have been in 1994...if he hadn't gotten hurt. What his career numbers would look like...if he hadn't gotten hurt.

I think that's part of the equation...difficult to separate that out.

Biggio was just an accumulator at the end of his career. In his last 6 years he had an OBP of .325 .
