I understand what you're saying man, but I think that the hernia injury is on the coaching staffs mind. I think Boki's time will increase more and more every game as he becomes more confident with the offense and Rudy becomes more confident that he is healed.

I would have liked Boki to see more time, but it was nice seeing Griff and KT on the floor together. That and T-Mo on fire left not too much time for Boki.

I'm confident that Boki will get the practice he needs to become successful, whether it comes in the preseason or no. The rocks have quite a few more concerns than just getting Boki minutes.

CR, I want Boki to play just as you do. But, I think the reason that Rudy T
is not playing him is due to his surgery. I mean, make sure he's fully
healed! Plus, since he IS a rookie, just another excuse to let him sit,
watch, and learn. He's got nothing but time, right? :)

That being said, I hope, someday, that Boki will be in the starting line up.
Just like Hidayet Turkoglu. :D We need a full-court runner, shooting,
dunking player like that! I hope that's Boki!

Also, mid-season, when Boki dunks on someones head (HE WILL!),
will help him get more minutes.

Boki will turned out to be just one fine player coming of the bench. I really hope that the guy will get at least 10 to 15 min. of playing time!

I think he has that potential, but he's at least a year away from that. He could be a matt bullard type player...3 point expert.

I'm not suprised he only got 6 minutes, and from what I heard, he didn't look great. That's ok for his first game, the guy deserves a chance (although everyone knows I think he's a bust).

As for his hernia, wasn't that like 2 months ago? Geez, it's a hernia people, not knee surgery.

Okay I'll be the first to state that im a newbie (to this site.......but ive always watched the rockets, and have been reading the posts for a while without replying). So im just gonna say what i think and I'm just gonna give MY OPINION.......I think Rudy wanted to get the old team (the uninjured) a chance to play as a team and prove to themselves that they could get a win as a team. I mean after last year's horrible record, i think Rudy just wanted everyone who had to suffer last year's record to realize that we have a great team, and see how to share the wealth with each other. He will introduce the new guys in later (Brown was an exception b/c of Francis' foul trouble...........but the boy is good). Well anyways, i just wanted to say that Boki is going to get his fair share of playing time and get to prove himself. It might just happen later, after the "old" (b/c they are all so young) team has had a chance to get a rhythm going. Well thats my two cents (meaning its just my opinion..........but tell me what y'all think, later).

    1. Rudy T is making sure his starters got the "motion" offense down
    2. There's nothing better than a secret weapon
    3. Defensive testing
just relax, Boki is gonna get his shots as his "ROOKIE" season progresses!!!

i dont understand why people enjoy picking fights on here. i mean they are sort of entertaining to read, i guess..

but how about, when a 15 year old kid, gets on here and says something you think is stupid... just let it slide...

yeah, hes new. yeah, he said something you didnt like. what are you going to get out of arguing with him for two pages of a thread? i mean if you really thought it was that dumb, then why dont you just ignore it. if you fight with him youre just sinking to the level of thought that its neccessary to show up every new kid that gets on here.

..and im not saying anyone in particular, 90% of people who are "senior members" on here, just jump all over anyone, when they find anything wrong with their post. Jesus, let things go. youre not going to change anything. for every new poster's will you break, two more new ones are going to join tomarrow and post the same stupid sh*t.

the posters i respect the most, are the ones i dont hear from for a while. and the ones that dont jump on every stupid little comment they read in a thread.

    yeah yeah i know...

I had hoped that boki would get more playing time too. I just wanted to know what the hype is all about...and i do suspect that he will get his chance sooner or later as his career goes on.

The fact that he is a rookie...is somewhat suspect...only because the leading scorer for memphis is a rookie...and he only played college ball and not pro ball, but who is to say what is better or worse.

Also memphis had their own euro play a lot of minutes...and i thought he looked good, although he didn't have a good game...i thought he showed a lot of potential...and he was only traded for a second rounder i think. but watching him made me want to see boki more to see if we could finally have our own euro. the euro's seem do be doing so well...i would love for the rockets to get a little piece of the pie too...hehe.

but tmo did get hot...and seniority i am sure had something to do with it...so in time lets hope the best player wins! whoever that may be.

I'll have to agree with the 15 year old. The starters really shouldnt be playing 35 minutes in the 1st preseason game. If you look at all the other stars in the league, they play about 20-25 minutes. There is NO reason to keep mobley and francis in the game for 35 and 37 minutes, respectively. There are better ways, I feel, to allocate the time. When we get closer to the start of the regular season, then it is wise to player your starters around 35 minutes. But, for now, I dont agree with Rudy's decision.

I found it perfectly normal for Rudy to give more playing time to KT and TMo in the first game.
In preseason, I think you tend to do a lot of experimenting, and playing Nachbar would not have been an experiment, certainly not as much an experiment as playing KT at the three or giving Morris the chance to play so many minutes. Both needed to prove something - Kenny needed to prove he could play well at the three, and Terence Morris needed to prove, in a real game, that he had gotten better with his shooting.
In that sense, it seems that Nachbar playing so few minutes is more a plus for him than a minus - It's more like Rudy T is saying, "I know what Nachbar can do. Now you guys show me why you think you can play this position as good as he can."

Rudy knows what TMO and Kenny can do. Nachbar has yet to play in an NBA game, that would be experimenting. But, I dont have a problem with the playing time Kenny and TMo got. I have more of a problem with Mobley and Francis getting so much playing time.

Rudy T did not know what Kenny can do at the three spot. Most people would agree with me when I say Kenny at the three is an experiment, and maybe you missed it, but in many different articles, we've been made to understand that Rudy has been surprised about Terence Morris so far, because his shots have been falling, unlike last year, so you can't say Rudy knows what he can do.
Concerning Francis and Mobley playing too many minutes in preseason, I agree with you, although I must say that has nothing to do with this thread. The thread is about Boki not playing and KT and Morris playing instead. Even if Cat and Franchise had played lesser minutes, it would not have translated into more minutes for Nachbar, since those are the 1 and 2 slots.
While there is speculation that Nachbar might be able to play the 2, I read a couple of days ago on another thread that Boki said on a radio programme that he had never played the 2 before. If he had played the 2 in that preseason game, THAT would have been an experiment.

Kenny Thomas played about 20 games last year at small forward. Giving him P.T. at the 3 is not an experiment.

Also, the stuff about steve and mobley was said because I was agreeing with what the 15 year old had to say.
