Whats the deal the past week all i have seen is how great Nachbar is doing and this and that and last night he only played 6 minutes and didnt even get the ball!! is he hurt? has he not learned the offense even though the articles on clutchcity.net say different? or is it they are just wanting to waste his abilities?! yes i know it was a preseason game but thats all the more reason to play a rookie!!!
Boki just came back from a hernia operation and Tmo was hot. Rudy keeps the hot players in. That is why Francis and Cuttino always ends up playing 40 minutes.
Boki's injury might be understandable. But I don't think they should let the starters play more than 30 min. in the first preseason game! The more you play them, the more chances you get them injured. And you are supposed to evaluate the players, not just to win games.
It was the guy's freakin' first NBA game with the Rockets. Don't put too much speculation into it. It doesn't matter this early. Maybe this was Rudy's plan all along. That is, to help him get adjusted to the speed, and help him shy away from any pregame jitters he might have had. Nonetheless, he is a rookie, and he's from overseas. Even if his reports are good from camp, they don't always translate into positives during the games. It's a whole different atmosphere in a game, involving more adreneline, speed, and the thought process has to be instantaneous. Camp and practices are a little slower, allowing Nachbar to fully think through things that he has learned, before he positively reacts. One can't do that in a game. Judgements and reactions have to flow, and come naturally, and with all of this new information about the players, and the system of the Rockets that Nachbar is being bombarded with early, it might have made it difficult to perform at such a high pace. Don't worry. With time (even a few more preseason games), I'm sure we'll see Nachbar become more and more comfortable with the system, his teammates, and himself, and that will translate on the court with his play, and the number of times he gets the ball (because his teammates will soon understand his abilities, and gain confidence in them). don't forget that even though Nachbar is a first rounder, Terrence Morris is ahead of him in the lineup because he has more experience. And the fact that TMo was on fire doesn't help Nachbar see more PT. Any more questions?
I understand you think you know what your talkin about but in a PRESEASON game the object is to get your young/not star players better and ive never seen a player that gets better by sitting on the bench! it didnt work for langhi, it didnt work for collier. And you say hes not playin cause hes from over seas? hes been playin PRO BASKETBALL for a couple years now and i dunno if ure blind or deaf but there are ALOT of european players that come in and contribute from day1. Ya its one game but it was a waste of growing time you DONT play your stars for more than 30 minutes in a preseason game!!!!
Um, remind me again when you were hired as the head coach of the Rockets, and get to decide how and when to use the players?
hey Behad has anyone here ever been a coach of the rockets? no and what is the point of this board? to think of ways that WE THE FANS think would make us better. So stop thinkin your superior cause this is a site for fans with opinions!!
Could you name some of these european players who are contributing from day 1? Let's see Pau Gasol and.....
a fact but an opinion of mine is that your an idiot that dosent have anything better to do than post on a message board 24/7
And getting paid to do it as well! LOLOL! Good comeback! Yet another fact from you without the benefit of experience. Man, I kept reading all the flame wars in the other threads and missing all the action. Thanks, newbie!
hey im new to the board im only 15 and if you wanna bash me for bein a fan of the rockets and talking about what i think is good than go for it i need somthing funny right now
Nobody is bashing you for being a fan. Not in the least. But when you come in here with your 20 something posts and declare "as fact" that Rudy is handling the playing time of his players all wrong, and state that you know it should be done differently...well, your gonna get bashed for that. Your opinion is fine, but to pass it off as fact is going to get attacked. Fifteen years old is a tough age to accept the fact that older, more experienced people know more than you.
so your saying bench the young guys in the preseason? not the best plan if you ask me do that in the regular season if there not producing but in the preseason let them learn!!!
It was one game! Rudy does this every preseason, and especially this season with the new offense. I predict that in game 4 or 5 of this preseason, Boki will get a start, just to see how he plays with the first string. He did the same thing with Morris last year. Besides, Rudy sees these players at practice every day, he knows what that can do and what they need to learn.
ok well your the self proclaimed expert so i guess you know what your talkinh about im not saying start him im just sayin playhim at least 20 min in the preseason. ya its just ONE GAME but 2 me that 1 less game of experience that he gets before the season starts. ya i know rudy sees him play everyday but rudy sees him play everyday against the same people put Boki up against sum fresh faces to see how he does!!! if im wrong tell me why and dont just say thats not what rudy does tell me what you would do
