So the wife gave me a new blue ray player for Christmas. She bought it at Walmart. As a promotion, she recieved a free $40 Walmart gift card. The player she bought didn't stream Netflx, so we went to exchange it. While exchanging it, wife couldn't find reciept in purse. Walmart says no problem, I just need identification. We picked out new player and went back to desk for exchange. My wife wants to ask Walmart about keeping $40 card. I was furious, because they knew nothing about it. We had argument at desk and I couldn't win. She asked employee about it. Employee said if we had reciept the $40 card would go back, but without reciept, they couldn't take it back. So we kept card. Now wife says it is not right to use card. What do you think?

It's forty insignificant dollars worth of goods. If your wife really feels bad about it, buy something for charity or something with that money.
so you just exchanged it? I dont see the problem...if you got a refund and still kept the card, then i'd see her point...but the promotion is probably based on the purchase amount or just buying a blue ray and you still did that.
My thoughts exactly. I even paid $10 difference in price. I really don't see what the big deal is, but she says my morals are wrong by wanting to keep and use card.
Since I am filing out my filling out my Moral Character Determination Application for the Bar, I cannot speak on this subject.
Your wife has an admirable moral attitude. She did the right thing, but Wal Mart gave their approval to keep it, so there is no reason not to use it.
