    The Kings decided not to spend this off-season and one of the Maloofs said publicly there was a chance their season could suffer because of this... Kings fans are already up in arms over this because of the way their season has turned out. Too much of a PR blow this time around.

    I say we trade Yao to Denver for Melo, rent Melo for a year, then S&T Melo to the Knicks cuz we can offer him more money, then bamboozle them out of another player since they are all out of picks, flip that player into a different pick, re-sign yao on the cheap, and have a little cash left over from the melo deal to sign another free agent or take on salary for a good player......

    Well, I'd take Wilson Chandler, Anthony Randolph, Turiaf and a future first, and Eddy's expiring deal to give NY Yao's expiring deal and their pick swap back. Yao's expiring is in what assets it can generate. NY may be able to turn that money into enough salary cap savings and talent to go with Galinari, Fields, and our pick swap to get Denver to say Yes. And we can in turn flip Curry with Jeffries to somebody else that wants salary cap relief.

    There's all sorts of possibilities. The key is what assets can Yao's contract garner and how those assets can be combined to acquire talent that fits what we are doing, whether it is superstars like Paul and Anthony, or whether it is young, highly talented, up-and-comers.

    With Yao's contract in play, you're right, it opens up tons of possiblities now, at the trade deadline and in the offseason. Yao maybe doing the Rox one last BIG favor.

    No doubt in my mind Yao is all for helping the team set itself up for contention through his contract. Builds a strong team, all the while Yao works hard to come back, be a role player, on a contending team he helped set up.

    Yao won't see the court in another uniform, he will play his career out in Houston, if he comes back healthy of course.

    Melo, Billups, Harrington for Yao Lowry or Brooks, and Martin

    Copius amounts of cap relief for denver.

    I hope they trade him to Lakers...that's my dream. Yao for Baynum?? I am certain that Lakers might take a gamble. They never use Baynum much anyway.

    Les will never explore any trade involving Yao without getting Yao's approval first. NBA would not allow it either.

    I also don't see Yao playing in another uniform. I am guessing that Yao will be traded to bring in some frontline help for Rockets and then re-sign next season with the Rockets if he is fully recovered.

    Hello, Melo.

    Why? To Keep Yao on the bench? Bynum at least plays some games for them.

    I just believe that a professional sports owner does not get into the business to make a quick buck in a year from cost savings. Most, if not all of them, are already rich out of their minds, and its just another asset they own that is alot more fun to play with than a million shares on Microsoft.

    If you think the Kings wouldnt want to sign an all-star player that could get them closer to relevent then you are crazy. Developing young talent in the hopes of finding a star through the draft is the only option they have right now.

    The last thing we need is another injury-prone big man. No Bynum, please.

    My proposed big threeway with Nuggets and NJ:

    Houston
    Incoming Players
    * Nene Hilario
    * Troy Murphy (expiring)
    * Brook Lopez
    * First-round pick
    Outgoing Players
    * Yao Ming (expiring)
    * Jared Jeffries (expiring)
    * Jordan Hill
    * Chase Budinger
    * Patrick Patterson

    Denver
    Incoming Players
    * Derrick Favors
    * Jordan Hill
    * Chase Budinger
    * Ming Yao (expiring)
    * Jared Jeffries (expiring)
    * Couple of first-round picks
    Outgoing Players
    * Carmelo Anthony
    * Nene Hilario
    * Arron Afflalo

    New Jersey
    Incoming Players
    * Carmelo Anthony
    * Arron Afflalo
    * Patrick Patterson
    Outgoing Players
    * Derrick Favors
    * Brook Lopez
    * Troy Murphy (expiring)
    * Three first-round picks

    Rockets get a starting PF and C, and a first-rounder, lose only expirings and prospects.

    Nuggets get Favors, two prospects, two first-rounders and a couple of expiring contracts they can still deal.

    Nets get Melo, a rotation guy in Afflalo, and a prospect in 2Pat.

    Rockets lineup after:

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Lee
    Battier/T-Will
    Nene/Scola
    Lopez/Miller

    Then re-sign Yao in the off-season.

    My opinion of this news - is that we end up with Favors given Morey's mastery. A thought: could Favors be our future Center? He has virtually identical pre-draft measurements as Dwight Howard - and he turned out to be a pretty good center. Now would be a good time to get him before he blows up.

    Morey pulling Favors would be an act of wizard-ary :)

    If not Favors, perhaps the obvious fallback is Randolph. I think the rumored interest is legit, but I understand why Morey wouldn't have conceded the NY pick back to (NY to) get Randolph. I like the Twill move better.

    He's working the Melo' interest/angle and we will be rewarded, one way or another, as Rockets fans.

    Maybe he's in the process of selling Denver on a package that they would be led to believe is better than Favors. Why only have four first round picks anda bust...when you can have six (pinky to the lip) and 8 meeeeelllliiioooonnn dollars!

    No. We don't have to give up our core players just for someone to take on Yao's contract. I thinks they woukld do it for Yao and Jeffires and perhaps Chase. You don't give $17M in cap relief plus your whole starting backcourt for a 1/2 year rental......

    this is a stupid trade. i thought we can trust Morey and he said that he would do anything to keep Yao. now we know he is just pulling our leg and just want to get rid of our best center since Hakeem. even though he has been injured a lot I still rather see Yao retire as a Houston Rocket then with another team. I feel Morey is just all talk and doesn't mean anything. maybe we should get rid of Morey and lets see how he feels. I hate Morey and what he is doing to Yao. i just hope Yao doesn't go to any team and just retires as a Rocket. as for Morey hopefully we can find someone else to do his job. :mad:

    I'm not proposing to get Bynum. I don't think that the Lakers will trade an even more injury prone big man for him.

    You think Chase is the best young player Denver can get for Melo?

    Wow never even thought of that...and its very morey like. Not to mention it could work seeing as denever isnt even that into favors.

    Nets send picks etc to nuggets
    get melo and say nene

    we send yaos contradct to denver and say
    pat pat and chase (may take more) to nets or nuggets
    and get maybe troy murphys expring and favors?

    and nuggets send melo and nene and get
    4 draft picks yaos contract of saving at least 8 mil plus luxary tax
    and chase and patt maybe more

    something like that could probablly work.
