Yeah WTF what kind of businessmen would actuallly plunk don half a million dollars to fund LBJ's b-day party? Even if you have the money why would you blow it on LBJ, already a multi-millionaire in his own right who stands to make millions more on his endorsements and salary? If I wanted to spend half a million I'd rather donate it to charities or use it to get some ass rather than become Lebron's sugar daddy for the season

FYI he's doing it on his free time. Its not like Kobe doesn't do vain stuff on his own time too, didn't he have that gay fashion shoot?

Everyone has different motivations for doing what they do for a living, I would say someone like KObe is driven more by a desire to dominate others rather than a love for basketball per se. Is that more healthy than playing so you can be the first billionaire sports figure in history? As long as the end result is good, I don't see why LBJ's motivations or what he does on his own time should be anybody's business but his own.

I would hope that you wouldn't pay anything to see him get gang-raped.

Wait, I'm trying to figure out what Lebron's angle is, but I just don't see it. Is he really r****ded enough to think that someone will pay him $500k to throw HIM parties? Is he aiming this towards owners of clubs and bars, who want him to draw business? Even then, Lebron can't generate enough additional profit for the joint to justify $500k a season. This cat's tripping on some good sh**.

Its this kinda stuff that makes me want to stop watching NBA basketball. I can't believe I endorse this kind of behavior. When did hedonism become such commonplace?

I really miss the old days when the NBA was about making people happy. These times its all about making money and having money. :(

I find it interesting the NBA and HeatSPN keep treating this guy as such a God. I mean sure he is a freak of a basketball player but there is nothing about his personality you should want any of your fans(especially kids) thinking they should copy. I find it interesting because of a few silly things someone like Ron Artest is sort of seen as a bad sore for the NBA, he was often punished in games by the refs for who he was while Lebron is rewarded but yet how often do you hear of someone like Ron raising money for charity or just straight giving it to charity and going far beyond his commitments to the 'NBA Cares' program. Yet this douche Lebron who is worth hundreds of millions wants people to pay for his birthday party, we could all come up with a 1000 better things for that money if people wanna give it away!

So you can't want to win and want to be a celebrity with a lot of fame?

Call me crazy but this is a decent business move.
Some fools will pay this amount of money to spend a night or two with LeBron, he doesn't have anything to lose and is banking on his fame.

So as much as snobbish it looks, extra money is always welcomed.

If I had the money I would spend 500k to go to a party for Deke. At least I know it's for his hospital. Lebron is so full of himself. Even if he wins a championship, he will be known as the guy that took the easy way out by joining Wade and Bosh. He does not seem to be a true competitor of the game. Like someone else posted, he is driven totally by the money and fame.
