Facebook blocked temporarily blocked my ability to friend request

I had this same problem when I hit 5,000 friends.

I actually had a facebook account banned because I made it specifically for that free mousepad promotion and added like 300 friends in a matter of days.

Yes. The only way you can go above 5,000 is to make a page and have people add you as fans.

 

I have 23 friends. Is that, like, a lot?

 

I have ~200 friends and honestly, I think that's too many. I don't even know who half these mf'ers are anymore...

 

I had a 1,000+ from undergrad, but then I realized that it does not make sense to have more than 300 friends. Even 300 is a lot.

Mark Zuckerberg is quoted as saying something he realized over the years of using Facebook is the more friends you have on FB the less friends you have in real life.

 

What's wrong with having a lot of friends? It's not a big deal. It's not like you are going to be asking everybody on your friends list to take a bullet for you.

 

I believe that quote was from his former best friend actually.

Call me weird, but I like being myself online. Not some amalgam that I change when the internet doesn't suit me.

I think that's the main reason I keep getting allowed back on this site. I don't try to pretend I'm someone I'm not.

Under the pressure to deliver the persona people remember you by.

You just don't realize it.

 

Your "friends" probably said "do not accept friend requests" on their privacy settings. You may have to end up sending them a message so they can request YOU first.
