WTF, I don't facebook much or haven't till recently. I started looking up people from college and recently added a lot of people as friends the last two weeks. To my knowledge I haven't been denied much, and to my knowledge I haven't asked too many people more than once. the really stupid thing is I'm just using the feature adding people who I have a bunch of common friends with already. I'm talking at least ten people. anybody else have this happen.

I actually had a facebook account banned because I made it specifically for that free mousepad promotion and added like 300 friends in a matter of days.

Yes. The only way you can go above 5,000 is to make a page and have people add you as fans.

I have ~200 friends and honestly, I think that's too many. I don't even know who half these mf'ers are anymore...

I had a 1,000+ from undergrad, but then I realized that it does not make sense to have more than 300 friends. Even 300 is a lot.

You went through the hassle of adding 300 people for...a mousepad?

Mark Zuckerberg is quoted as saying something he realized over the years of using Facebook is the more friends you have on FB the less friends you have in real life.

What's wrong with having a lot of friends? It's not a big deal. It's not like you are going to be asking everybody on your friends list to take a bullet for you.

There are a lot of people who friend request every single person they bump into.

So then they had another account made?

Call me weird, but I like being myself online. Not some amalgam that I change when the internet doesn't suit me.

I think that's the main reason I keep getting allowed back on this site. I don't try to pretend I'm someone I'm not.

    You've already changed.

Under the pressure to deliver the persona people remember you by.

    You just don't realize it.

Your "friends" probably said "do not accept friend requests" on their privacy settings. You may have to end up sending them a message so they can request YOU first.
